I await the results with trepidation. As a long term shareholder I was attracted to the ‘science’ and the barrier to entry for the aerospace market. Had I known that testing would take longer than obtaining approval for a new drug (10 years plus) I would have bailed out years ago but I foolishly held on and the last interim results whilst encouraging were a kick in the ******* Aerospace just 3% of sales. I expect a big increase this time round but I would have hoped that by now we might have had some indication that they needed to increase capacity especially that the lead time for new equipment is in the region of 12 months. The board needs to learn how to manage expectation. I am not holding my breath.
Good to see the press today extolling the virtues of copper and their anti bacterial properties, ridding metal surfaces of Covid 19 in four hours instead of steel taking three days, suggesting door knobs hand rails and supermarket trolley handles for example should be coated in copper. Could this be good for the price of copper or am I clutching at straws once again for this company!
Jammy (May 5th)could have a point about nationalisation of utilities, although dismissed at the time. Labour now seem to be threatening any company associated with infrastructure and one thing the market doesn’t like is uncertainty and punishes the share price accordingly, but I don’t think this accounts for all of the fall in the share price. As regards the CFO and her stepping down, I can’t believe there is anything ‘untoward’ in the background as “she will continue to work with the business” If the company knows of no reason why the share price has tanked, they should let us know via an RNS. If they don’t we must draw our own conclusions and I fear the worst.
As a long term sufferer in this company can anyone enlighten me as to how long it takes to complete a coating.I realise much will depend on size and complexity etc. but are we talking hours or days?.Are the reactors running continuously and are they on shift work? Assuming Airbus place an order for parts that have been on test if I recall correctly for over 7 years (and we are still waiting) does this mean that any new part will have to repeat the same process, however if we are at the stage where Airbus says 'just do it' then it will be worth the wait. Its all well and good having prestigious customers and the kudos and credibility that goes with it but up to now it hasn't helped the bottom line. You begin to wonder if the company realised it would take so long. Certainly the time scale the company is experiencing was not conveyed to shareholders. Clearly these coatings work and I find it hard to believe that other markets have not been exploited which would generate near term profitable income, which begs the question, what have the sales people been doing.
Yes Jab1tt Lots of buyers on Friday. Couldn’t be linked to a recommendation in The Times on the following day!!! suggesting that Kromek was a good share to buy if there is “a bad Brexit’. You couldn’t make it up. Just a coincidence Your Honor, honest.
At this stage of the company’s life, on the cusp of possible Airbus contracts, other aerospace deals and potential turbine blade business, I am very disappointed at the timing of the company statement “make the company an attractive acquisition target” To my mind the company has put up a For Sale sign. After many many years of tortuous testing and gaining aerospace accreditation this signals a vulnerability to an opportunist predator and Team 83 is correct in his presumption and will be viewed as such by the market. I appreciate that a small company like Hardide could flourish under the wing of a larger company but the cynic in me is concerned that a cosy arrangement with a larger company offering attractive employment terms may not be in the best interest of shareholders
I must have missed previous references to “make the company an attractive aquisition target” It would be a lot more attractive if they had profitable contracts with Airbus and were making a net profit. Once that is achieved I wouldn’t object to the likes of Bodycote making an offer but not before.
Why would you pay someone with no fashion sense unless you wanted to sell flat caps,(ecky thump) tattoo sleeves and key rings. I despair. So much for Boohoo being at the cutting edge for designs for the young. Is this a Gerald Ratner moment!. I just hope that the articles are fake news for all our sakes.
Just out of interest, and assuming (always dangerous).that the company does receive an order from Airbus will this mean that they wont have to go through a prolonged test period on each potential order. I am mindful that an RNS in February 2010 the company stated it was midway through a 3 year coating approval test programme and seem to have been testing particular components a further 6 years!. I would like to think that the Hardide coating would become a standard and there wouldnt be such a long lead time, but am I being too optimistic. Any thoughts anybody?
Good to see a buy recommendation in The Sunday Times and reported on Digitallook website. Could help tomorrow. They like the move into electric utilities and the partnership with Chargepoint which should lead to a flow of work installing the American market leaders charging stations They also highlight the recent new bank facility and the use of cheap debt to build assets that pay double digit returns a no-brainer I like companies with recurring income such as this.
You are right. I was misled by summary on Digitallook which showed the transaction as a buy Lets hope he retains them!
This recent company purchase looks an excellent fit and earnings enhancing. With Black Rock increasing its stake and a director shelling out over three million pounds to buy shares, shows a great deal of confidence in the future.
There are a lot of positives in these latest accounts. I particularly liked ‘A 130% increase in gross profit compared with a 51% growth in sales demonstrating the Company’s high operational gearing’ . Any Airbus orders which will be ongoing for many years have the potential to transform the company’s fortunes and give it the credibility it deserves. It has been a long haul since I started accumulating shares from 2002, Perhaps we are on the cusp of better days!
Good to see the Investors Chronicle again tipping as ‘buy’ The unaudited interims were solid with an expected dividend increase to boot. I particularly like the increase in ‘gas pipeline and meter assets’ and the wish to consider debt funding further assets. This increasing recurring income helps underpin profits.
The results are confirming the long term growth prospects of the company. It's good to see increasing recurring income from pipeline ownership helping to underpin future revenues. A rising dividend shows confidence.
With many aircraft in production for over 20 years it will be interesting to learn the time frame of any Airbus supplier contract. Minimum 5 years would be positive. I'm a LTH and thankfully have averaged down over the years. My mistake was thinking that Airbus approval would be relatively short term, instead it was protracted, but not as bad as a new drug approval!! I hope my loyalty is rewarded. Let's hope any new entrants eventually using Hardiides IP will have to go througth the same hoops or am I being too optimistic?
