Very good points. Dan showing he is very clear on where he wants to steer metro. The Natwest proceeds give us a lot of ammo to deploy and Share price doubling from lows recently is the first step. Shorts reduction too.
Ah LTI. Doesn’t seem to understand much of what’s been going on with Metro. Relishing in negativity as you always do. I recall you being obsessed with the shorttracker, have a look and see which way it has been trending. Watch and listen, you might learn something.

There is nothing BJ has been getting right. Absolutely shambolic.
He came in wanting to be seen as the new Winston Churchill, he will be leaving and remembered as one of the worst ever who destroyed sectors.
Hasn't gotten anything right regarding Covid since day 1.
Pat, you are partly right, partly wrong.
Metro is much less exposed to international business.
Holders here who understand the business know that the RNS Friday was massive.
And much more to come.
Wait till we see how Dan allocates the newfound money. UK will most likely get no-deal with the EU, and the market will actually finally find stability.
The new leader ship at Metro has been making very good moves. I am all for a bear case, but things have changed substantially lately. Not worried at all about Metro, and 2021 should see a very solid re-rate.

It's definitely something worth exploring depending on one's situation. You'd be surprised by some of the countries happy to accommodate you tax-wise for much less the 2 million.
Bahamas for example: only 3 months needed on the island and no need to purchase real estate.
Try the google: "list of countries tax residence" and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Definitely a real option and should be considered if the situation permits.

That's precisely it. Been doing that for years with the family and it's the best of both worlds.
Legally out of HMRC's grubby hands... and wonderful weather in other countries.
Might I suggest the Caribbean, plenty of English-speaking countries ideal for the October-April months.
EU countries also an option, but would depend on citizenship etc.
Not that I would ever suggest such a thing...
But one might think about moving assets abroad... and even why not look into spending 6.5 months abroad per year to avoid the incoming tax hammer on all fronts the country is forced to deploy in the coming months and years...
