Believe the election for a new Dear Leader is currently suspended, so he'll be there for some time still.
The calibre of the present crop of politicians leaves a lot to be desired.
Really thankful.........there could have been a perfect storm.....Corbyn could hav been in charge. In his disappearance speech he was saying his expenditure policies on the NHS Labour spend has been validated. He spectacularly fais to say that his spend wasn't going to be focussed on this virus' consequences. Despicable counting political coup at this dreadful time. Time for tea Jez
re Hurtle 9.44
Those responsible for lack of basic preparedness are successive govts for the last 40 years, not just here but world wide, pandering to electorates wanting low taxation. They've maintained armed forces, wmd's, weapons hardware. They even have storage for redundant stock .
Meanwhile because of 'Call me Dave ' we are locked into a fixed percentage to be given away on an unaccounted basis to the world's needy such as India, China and strangely including North Korea who prefer developing space race materials , and armed forces to supporting their own
This is in reality nothing more than a high level super infectious flu. It could have been a far more deadly disease , plus built in resistance to antibiotics
Do you think the whole chain is holding up from supply to production or given the current situation this could be the only industry on the planet that's unhindered. Wonder why the whole world economy took a hit across various stock exchanges .....MMMMMMMMMMMM?
Re glod , my opinion remains the same , give it another decade
GLA stay safe
The game is to determine how many of his statements are outright lies versus half truths. His stupidity kills.
GIT re clapping, astonishingly I fully agree.
Can't understand why given we've had at least ten years or more with forecasts of a global pandemic , why the pandemic storehouse run by UK Gov didn't have enough hazmat suits and powered filters , never mind not enough, totally inadequate , ineffective ear loop masks. Best wishes to your daughter hope she gets through without any major problems
If you want to get an impression of Spain /Portugal, suggest you take a look at the city /town and motorway live webcams. When it starts waking up again you'll see people and traffic beyond just the odd vehicle . Suggest that would pre-empt any RNS from MM
His agenda has been to consistently boost the SP with mild ramping , **** off anyone who disagrees with the view given the SP has consistently fallen ,shares are consistently diluted, MM hasn't been completely straight with shareholders , the glod has been forced on us by Blackrock whilst MM wanted to offload it-there had to be a financial reason for that. We continue to raise cash. Despite MM's RNS feeding us a placebo that production continues . Spain is slowly shutting down, there may be a case for stopping ore transport and swithching lorries to food/medicines deliveries. Industry world wide is slowing, the markets for manufactured products is slowing.
Italy presents the current worse case scenario , but no-one knows. If Boris can get out in time the UK may not be liable for a huge payout to European banks and Brexit may well be proved to be the best thing since sliced bread in terms of recovery. Apart from a small clique we generally know each other from postings. This isn't strictly a social gathering , it's main raison d'être is informing and making money. Most don't care about hearts of gold. Then again you all know this, it's self evident. Looking at the graph from the link above , we have only just scratched the surface. It's going to get worse. Two things are definite , Part of the pension payments black hole will be closed and there will be a lot more babies in 18 months time. Whether we still have a company or if it runs out of cash and closes is less determined.
For SS- be less Rhadamanthine in your opinions and follow the logical consequence of a consistently disappointing SP. If it survives we're going to be seeing a longer turnaround than three months with a distinct possibility that China will again be flogging raw materials to enable their financial recovery and world domination and influence by funding third world projects.Currently Iran and Kenya are suffering from C19 because of Chinese investment and engineers on the projects..
If we do survive lots of money to be made, but given the dire possibilities we could see a sliding SP for the next three months. Face it the Bankers would love to foreclose , mothball then reopen in 12-18 months, they'd make a lot of money, all legal and above board

I presume it will be updated and by following links you can find your own area
And certain GITS have their own agenda.........like to see you ramp this near term
Do you mean JHOOTS? www.expressandstar.com/news/health/coronavirus-covid19/2020/03/19/kingswinford-pharmacy-raises-price-of-paracetamol-to-8-a-pack/
Meanwhile Amazon has third party sellers hiking the cost of Masks, thermometers almost anything disease related , oh and check out delivery times in some cases up to 2 months and lots with excessive delivery charges , how can Amazon rip off its customers by accepting a £400 pound post and pack charge for an item weighing grammes and with an excessive time before delivery. Will Bezo be putting into the inadequate US health support system I Wonder.
There's going to be lots of companies who will be ripping off the public
re..Getinanewtunethere... this record is wearing a bit thin. Either contribute an opinion, a fact, or a prediction . There's a reason for the blocking system . I presume you are unable to master it. Tedious that you've kept it up for so long. If you have an issue with reprobates , report or block . Personally my agenda has always been to play with a an amount I can afford to lose and make money, but you know that. Superior? You make it easy! Now rant
End of Days.. I think not just the usual panic mode supply lines will be up and running in 7=10 days, Buying in 'cos it will bounce and climb, bank crisis a case in point. Closing schools , better off giving Hazmat suits to the staff. Remember the purpose of schooling was to remove thieves and vagrants from the streets. Parents ain't gonna keep them home on the farm, pre pubescents will be flooding the malls. Like the financials they're putting into place. As for here continue to be concerned about taking it private ,were at 20-25% of true value ,short term risks are higher , it will eventually bounce , why not , I would take it private then float at a later date . Money supply seems to be an ongoing concern but again if private just mothball and reopen/float in 6 months under a new name as a going concern. Could be we are all just bending over to be shafted. FFS don't even mention the Glod that MM was intent on offloading. There's a reason for the latter and it ain't making cash
You know it's bad when IPSA closes it's offices and phone lines a couple of weeks before the end of the financial year and the announcements regarding gravy train hikes to MP's won't or can't be announced.
HBOB good point well made suggest all post a message to their MP's pointing out they're as likely to have family depending on a staffed health service as the rest of us. The obverse of the coin is the demand is too great and some supplying countries are producing for their own first. Next, some sources are just plain overcharging and ripping off because of the situation -Couple of masks on Amazon below £20 but £400 postage and 3 weeks delivery from China , the good news .....any C V on the contents will have died in that period and the uk supply situation could have been resolved
Whatever published figure your getting multiply it by a factor of somewhere between 10 and 100 .Zero deaths below age 10 world wide and only between 1-3% in ages teens to 60's The testing is only on a finite few,its not comprehensive, many will have only minor symptoms , they'll never hit the stats70's 80's 90's 1in 6 die
HBob that's one to circa fifty providing they're actually doing rather than pen pushing sounds about right. If its just bureaucracy, it'll be useless. On another rant . WTF is Corbyn still in post for , Dead duck , even a commitee of the current group standing would be better than keeping him in post ..dithering, default, prevarification. FFS If it's as bad as they say they need to work together. Even Sadiq Khan made a political jibe at NHS austerity. in the middle of briefing Londoners from the COBRA meeting .....Eyam is the model GLA
on reflection It seems I must declare an enormous self interest . Damn GIT was right all along
Hbob......Big challenges needing effective planning and effort.... there's also a place to cover the vulnerable on a local level.
Personal self interest, bowel cancer, stomach cancer , a heart attack in the last three months , enough tablets to sink a ship all since buying into Wres 8 years ago. OMG the stress of holding this share Expecting to kick the bucket if i get this, but that's been the case for the last 5 years anyway. Brompton ****tail awaiting any nastiness or its equivalent. Have moved into one of the lodges , with gin Jamesons and everything goes to cash and the grand kids in 5 years with payments based on personal success . The man's a complete bar steward , but I can. so I have. GIT I don't care. ..... Something to strive for , no hand outs. Apologies HBob I diversify you are right about the big picture but there a re small things that will help and the organisational infrastructure exists already in the individual communities . all we need is to get off our arses
That would be me ....sorry GIT... All local groups are in. Needs to be kept simple an easy to carry out . No-one is going to carry groceries or put themselves at risk, all contact via txt email or /and phone. Most of the organisation was already in place via church and mosque , surgery is on board as is pharmacy.. brownie points in the community guaranteed and specifically targeted at vulnerable. No matter how much this is OTT or otherwise , better to be ahead of the game in your own community. The empty shelves should be sorted in around 7-10 days. Worse outcome would be riots destroying the infrastructure needed to deliver locally. Won't happen here just remembering the Croydon/Manchester debacle pre Boris water cannon adventure. At least something is being done , but AGAIN todays govt announcements regarding loans wfor small buisinesses whilst commendable hasn't got any input from the financial sector who were bailed out by the taxpayer to suspend or lower payments or offset loans especially as they and their shareholders were bailed out by taxpayers...time to give back..deafening silence ensues. I have no eggs in this cake , being completely financially independent without loans , mortgages or overdraft.
Hbob everyone will be paid and we have a rota for turning up to keep everything running on the understanding if anyone gets sick others are prepared to step in to keep the horses fit. The estate is self sufficient from the glasshouses and some of the livestock. We can even butcher at a push so can supply the workforce at a pinch. Blessed isolation. GLA enjoy good health all see you at the other end. Next target sub 0.1p. Bloody mad ...........Oh binge watching Walking Dead on Prime... Is this what it will come to??????
Organising leafleting to post in front windows of local community with individuals monitoring individual streets to pick up on anyone who hasn't got support from family and friends . Basically bold black triangle on yellow background. Local Parish council having overview with churches managing the input from the people who are doing a patrol once a day in a road or group of houses. Take the view this is still early days . Coordinating with local surgery and pharmacy to ensure any red tape in supplying those requiring filled prescriptions via support groups is minimised . It's not huge support , just an initial safety net
When the financial systems collapsed because of junk mortgages , the govt bailed the Banks out with taxpayers cash. As a kid my dad was regularly laid off no dole no benefits for 6 to 8 weeks every year. Currently the govt is muting that great swathes of our industries close down. There is no talk of the banks or financial institutions waiving or reducing payments for the duration. It seems its more important for businesses to attempt to maintain payments or go bankrupt. Having themselves been bailed out by the nation and the people , perhaps the institutions should start thinking of payback to preserve industry rather than the taxpayer stepping in yet again in a full bodied manner ...just a thought
