Not really sure quite why this update had to be put out at all given its just operational management. The fact they put it out now, just as the sp shows signs of some embryonic recovery is poor timing.
Positive as ever and surprisingly forthright and open to suggestions that GGP might actually seriously buy out the 70% and Telfer.
The elephant in the room of course is the inevitable dilution that would result.
Is there any way GGP could acquire Telfer and Have without massive share dilution?
Tend to agree with zoros. Cant say I'm not concerned about massive dilution. Almost seems inevitable given the likely outcomes. Appreciate its all good for long term growth but for short and medium term it would not be good for sp.
So what if a deal is agreed between NCM and whoever and the new partners decide to come after GGP. Are we really able to withstand a low ball t/o. We like to think so but really?
Also if a decision is made to drop Hav. ( agreed unlikely given all that has been spent) and we get first refusal where do we stand if Telfer is not part of the deal. Without Telfer, Hav is going to be a lot more expensive. So many unknows out there. Will be interesting to follow this. It could be excellent news for us but it could also be disastrous.
I think sone on here have been a tad unrealistic about the potential with some crazy numbers being posted.
The RNS does set out the strict criteria upon which the negotiations and ultimately the independent value was decided.
The fact is we are indeed now debt free with a 25% stake in a billion dollar gold mine just 18 months away from production as well as the potential for game changing success in a number of other zones.
What's not to like!!!
So meanwhile, as we all bicker, the sp continues its relentless slide.
Given that the MRE and the resolution of the 5% seems now to be a long long way off, can anyone please indicate what it will take to at least stop the decline in SP.
I wonder where we'll be on Friday.
Listening to all the nonsense on here with all the guesses and fag packet calculations I'd love to say 25 p but fear the reality might just be 13.5 still.
Well get there in the end but I suspect we might have to wait just a while longer
The continued drop in sp is undoubtedly depressing and I think, without Haveiron, we would be looking at a terminal decline, however we DO have Haveiron.
This sp WILL recover at some point, either through a takeover of sorts or more likely when we start abstracting the yellow stuff.
I think the problem us many, and I have to include myself here saw thus as a chance to make easy money quickly.
That was crass stupidity, however let's not kid ourselves the gold has gone away. It hasn't.
All that us required, unfortunately is that we'll all have to merely manage and adjust our expectations.
It may not recover fully in 6 months but in only 2 years time we should be fine.
Not sure it really helped SD setting out the updated MRE would be in Feb. Why would you buy now rather than leave the sp to drop further and pick up a bargain at the end of Jan.
Appreciate we may get news in the mean time but realistically are we?
I suppose he was just being open and honest.
Well I confess when he first took over as CEO from GH I wasn't convinced.
Having listened through the whole of his presentation and his comprehensive and candid responses to the Q&A's I now see why he was brought in.
Very very impressed. Convinced now we are in safe hands and I reckon I'll sleep easier now.
Would thoroughly recommend listening yo the whole presentation to anyone harbouring any doubts.
Glitter, I think we should all take what many people say here with a pinch of salt.
Many many people claim to be constantly topping up and averaging down to some miniscule figure. Whether or not they do is debatable.
Well I read all the posts last night and thus morning and assumed SD had made a right dogs dinner of it.
I have only now had the chance to see his presentation.
Ok, so he didn't reveal anything new but there again he was not allowed to.
Ok hes a bit of a max headroom but that doesnt worry me.
Overall, I thought it was ok and, date I say it, actually pretty good.
Very disappointed at the speed decline but honestly can't see any reason why it won't jump back up when positive news begins to flow.
Theres been no bad news at all, only reaffirmations of very good news.
Patience is needed.
