They have formally lifted the moratorium!

One can say all you like about this process and timeline, but in order to shake off the left and the greenies we needed the enquiry to move forward in a substantive way. Giving it social and scientific license is the only way big projects get approved these days, although I find these delays disconcerting it is with great relief that we are moving forward. To Gunners credit, if removed tomorrow, he kept his word and put the territory ahead special interest groups. Cheers everyone!

I do believe the moratorium will be lifted, but I do not trust these 8 politicians, its about self preservation for them, it is going to be interesting!

Expect a caveat with the lifting of the moratorium, above and beyond Justice Pepper's recommendations. Just approving it is just too easy!!

This is all pretty standard stuff, regulation wise. Been in oil and gas for 30 years and things move slowly but do happen, this resource will last for decades so implementation is essential for success. In my opinion this is very positive news.

If you were that na�ve to believe things were going to go full tilt ahead you need to give your heads a shake. They have established starting points, and will now implement them. I have watched this board for some time and it has slipped into an over zealous, over optimistic love fest. So i'm not surprised at most of the responses, this will happen, just not how you may want it.

This is only happening because they can sense a loss, you can ask for anything, doesn't mean you'll get it. These people were quite content with an enquiry until they didn't see it going their way. Furthermore, governments make tough and unpopular decisions every day, that is why they are in government!!!!!
