Borelli is a non-exec of GGP, the chairman.
I doubt he could harm GGP even if he wanted to.
He is heavily invested also.
With his qualifications he will useful in ensuring that all procedures are followed as required by law.
I am not concerned about his role, nor should you be.

However, I cannot see any point in that , unless it helps speed matters along.
As the world’s top gold producer there is every reason for Chinese to look to investment in promising exploration, worldwide and including Australia.
Their own gold production is not expanding.
Chinese investment in Australian mining will be most welcome, more especially if there are difficulties trading elsewhere.
Could be the betting firms hoovering stop losses and trying to clear open bets?
Or those who have wagered on a fall in SP.
There are many good reasons to topple the strong SP.
It must get some results; they do it so often.

There is no mystery about the hold up at Scally.
Although as ally itself can be described as a mystery.
GGP have been in discussion with the people who are native to the land.
GGP are unlikely to drill Scally while there is a concern about Covid with the indigenous folk.
I don’t know what the Oz government’s position is.

It depends on your circumstances. If you like to cover your back you might cash a few of your bets. But for the timing of buying shares I think I would watch and if I bought it would be modest.
I say that because I prefer gambling to investing.
This coy looks like a good long term investment if that’s your bag.

My recollection is that GGP were, and are, respecting the wishes of the indigenous people with regard to Scally and commencement of drilling there.
It might be that drilling will begin when approved by those indigenous people even if the government has given the get go.
I might be wrong but it would accord with my understanding of the GGP ethos.
