Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
All things considered, I don’t things are looking too bad at all. A move to KAZ is the most obvious choice given the existing mining operations there. Not much word on a split though, which is good. Seems to me like the board are trying to keep Poly together and find a work around with this Russia-Ukraine crisis!
I’m still keeping my chips in this one, I reckon!

Hey, my fellow Polymetalarians! I’m so excited for tomorrow’s update, I can’t sit still! I might need to go and sit on my hands or something!! Hahaha
Let’s hope this upward momentum is given a huge boost by good news/results on the 24/1, eh?
Russia won’t be punished by NATO for this missile strike. There is no appetite in The USA, UK, France or Germany for any direct conflict with Russia. Only the Baltic states of NATO want a punch-up with their Russian neighbours and have after one for some time.
The most we will see is NATO co-ordinated Ukrainian missile strikes on Russian missile sites in the region to dampen the ruskies capabilities, but it’ll be more of a gesture than an actual military exercise.
Poly won’t be affected too much… £2:30-£2:40 finish tmrw, £2.50 again by the end of the week.
Or…. It could escalate into all out nuclear war. NATO v Russia, and then nothing really matters anymore!!
I reckon so too!! Be good to see £4 per share!!
Because help with people energy costs etc will free up people disposable income and it’ll allow peeps little luxuries like trips to the cinema…
Definitely lower energy bills and lower living costs!! Markets should do well, I reckon!
No. They are not allowed to just hand over bank details. If you register with computershare you can input your preferred bank details on there or just receive cheques from EVRAZ if and when dividend payments return.
I’ve been struggling to sell even 200 shares for days and suddenly I can shift 15000 if I wanted to, with no problems?? Looks like there’s something going on here!!
I like this company and I hold over 15000 shares. I was in the Trafford Centre store at the back end of last week amd I was a little surprised with what I saw. It was well into 30 degrees plus outside. Loads of parents with children in the vicinity, yet absolutely nothing to say they sell ice cream?? I bought a tub (very nice by the way!) and walked back to the car with it. A young woman stopped me to ask where I got it from. I told her and she said she was going straight there to get one!
I do genuinely think Hotel Chocolat has a good future, but they need to start capturing the market at EVERY opportunity now and really create brand awareness at a household level if they are to fill the gap left by the likes of Thornton’s etc.
@pipsjunky
That’s my strategy too! Polymetal will be fine in the long run, I reckon.

You should (in theory) get the same amount of shares you have now, but in POLY Russia and POLY Kazakhstan. They will both be rated based on there worth in each geographical area based on assets/ trading/debt etc. There are other ways to do it such as a ‘percentage split’, but we will have to just wait and see how it plays out.
Wow!!! What a day for POLY!
I reckon so. If the results are good, it will make the case from staying away from POLY very difficult for the institutional investors. This war is terrible and it’s heart breaking to see what the Ukrainian people are having to deal with on their own soil, but given that POLY has been Subject to no UK sanctions, it’s hard to not invest. Financial opportunity is always a stronger motivator than taking moral stances - especially in the medium-to-long term. We will see…
I wouldn’t of thought so given that POLY is still trading. A split is more likely, but I don’t that is imminent either due to the fact that there is no significant escalation in the conflict in the Ukraine, despite the infantile rhetoric coming out of the Kremlin. It really is just a case of sitting down and waiting for this war to ply itself out. The Q2 results due out on the 21/7 should give us all a better insight into how POLY is coping with the current geo-political climate.
Yeah, I’m gonna go a few grand more if it hits £1.60 this side of Q2 results! I was only gonna put it in SSE - but, as they say, fortune favours the bold!!! Haha
I’ve just got another 1000 shares!
Nah, my circumstances haven’t changed. It’s just that this conflict is just becoming a war of attrition. Until there is a regime change in Russia, we will, as shareholders all be sat in limbo.
POLY must split its Russian and non-Russian assets apart now! It’s irresponsible to keep it as it is! The past SP highs of £12-£15 are now just a memory. Non-Russian POLY is worth a few quid per share in its own right. If Putin gets really nasty and starts seizing foreign assets in Russia like POLYs mines etc, the Russian side of the company will be gone anyway. Might as well reduce risk and get it split now!
I agree. EVRAZ is nothing like POG, financially. Once this madness from Putin in Ukraine stops (and it will), things will get start to get back to normal. Fingers crossed.
