One supposes that Bowens came on board and acquired shares in AMC as he could help influence outcomes with his contacts in Russia and his track record. With the demise of AMC in Russia do you think he might try and influence what might happen with the rump of AMC bearing in mind his investment in the company and he would like a property return on his investment.
Today. Business Telegraph.
Ex- PWC staff set up Cyprus firm for Russian- linked clients.
A group of PWC partners has broken away from the firm to set up a new company in Cyprus that will service Russian linked clients.
Kiteserve, set up by three former PWC partners, will work for clients connected to Russia that “ big four” accountancy firms do not want to touch owing to a “ sanctioned anywhere, sanctioned everywhere “ policy.
Roger. What you say is sadly right. I used to go to the Proactive One 2 One meetings at the Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel for years. Maybe like others I was taken in. He would hold the room. Make convincing statements. A year later I would look at my notes and nothing had happened. That’s why I stopped going. Two and a half p gets me out and I will be lucky to get that. I will be glad to be gone. I have utter contempt for the way he has run the company for past 12 years or so I’ve been invested.
Remember tomorrow.
He doesn’t and never has played with a straight bat. He bowl’s no balls, wides and head high beamers.
Have voted no and won’t be attending, heard it all before.
Would be grateful if those attending could keep us all up to speed and good luck.
I was at the Crede vote meeting and everyone needs to be very careful. It was done in the room on a show of hands and most of the floor was voting against the board. On arrival I had a letter from my broker and on my arrival my name was taken no note was taken on the number of shares I owned.
It was just done on the day on a show of. The board make the rules up as they go along.
Like many been in this for more than twelve years. Attended many meetings and listened to RY and his enthusiastic statements most of which never happened.
I do think we are now in a very tight corner with no wiggle room. I’m not going to vote no just because matters are out of the boards control and to be spiteful. If anyone can suggest a feasible alternative then I will have to give very serious consideration to a yes and have to live with my losses.
I was recommended to look at AMC some many years ago. At the time I was in my mid sixties my next birthday will be my 78th. So in TDT terms I am a LLT holder. I have levelled down over the years so 2p in my ISA and 3p in my dealing account.
So who would or could or will be allowed buy AMC by Putin?
I think the present Geo political situation is the key and for me it doesn’t look great. RY has been going on for years at meetings I’ve been going to about China and South Korea showing some interest but nothing ever seems to materialise.
AMC is in war mongering Russia who now have more than their foot in Kazakhstan and Putin will stay and exploit. He is about to play serious games with or in Ukraine. China do not see these hostile acts of aggression as anything but threatening. But for AMC it looks like very bad timing to me.
Should Norilsk as the tensions increase care to make a low offer, which company outside Russia would dare to make a counter offer. In my opinion none.
If we can survive the next nine months, well you never know.
