Centrica, the FTSE 100 group that owns British Gas, is expected to say on Thursday that it made adjusted operating profits of £3 billion in 2022 — the highest in its history. That would be more than three times higher than a year earlier and would outstrip its previous record of £2.7 billion, set in 2012.
