Evening Pearls,
I think back to 1997 when Apple was almost going bust and it got bailed out. - I wonder how different things would be if Microsoft had thought back then ‘Apple is on its knees and worthless, let’s just not bother in investing in this low value company.’
Sometimes you have to see the potential of a business and ARB definitely has potential.
Re Monday
Most likely not a 100% rise but I wouldn’t be surprised if we are hit with an RNS confirming the application has gone in to move to the Nasdaq.
All in my opinion of course!
@Rr101
As the saying goes “from acorns oak trees grow”.
Enjoy the ride!
Equity markets the world over had a tough time today. ARB did well to close on 280 (last night’s close was 284) so fairly steady in the end. US kept above $4 on the close so that is good news. Tomorrow, another steady day without the large spikes and drops should do the trick. As others have said, steady few days is healthy.
Investing.com suggests 280 as the closing price.
Share purchase closes at midday tomorrow (19 Feb) and shares are due to be listed at 8am on 4 March 2021.
The close on LSE shows 273.5 and then it changes to 284.
$3.64 converts to £2.62
Perhaps you forgot that you were asking about your TSCO shares with the 51p special divi that has declared. 238p less 51p = 187.
Now go back and talk some sense about the share that’s called ARB.
US equities up, US bonds up, BTC UP, UP, UP!
In my opinion, the yanks will want to jump on board rather than jump ship.
Thanks Bignose.
Just realised what a complete donut I was - of course 0.188 represented the share price (face palm).
Nice to see this finally moving in the right direction after holding long over many years. Still wish that I had sold out on the European Approval spike back in the day. Live and learn!
Morning @ TheItalian
A few weeks back you helpfully set out that to obtain a valuation in GBP of my holding I was to apply the following:-
Number of shares x 0.188 x 0.097 = value in £GBP
I am assuming the 0.097 was the then HKD to GBP exchange rate but I am wondering what the 0.188 figure represents. Please can you advise.
Much appreciated
“ we are looking at a easy £250 close tomorrow”
I am praying for a £250 per share close but doubtful - £2.50 perhaps!
@Tonyshu
“ May buy the missus a belated valentines card now.”
Save your money and buy more ARB instead. :)

@jmp500
My HL voting instructions have just landed.
Apparently the Supreme Court will hand down its decision on the environmental impact regarding Heathrow’s third runway next week.
Hopefully it will be favourable and then we get the (favourable) JR decision shortly thereafter.
@danosaur - totally agree!
The last thing I want to do when I have been working at home all week and not really seeing the outside world is stay in and watch a blockbuster movie on a tv screen. Once cinemas reopen then I will want to go out, get something to eat pre-film and then watch a movie at the cinema.
And I added another 30,000 shares for that reason.
Chipping away and waiting for the good news to arrive....
