Border officials told not to make checks on arrivals from green and amber list destinations – report

The Guardian is reporting that Border Force officers no longer have to make basic COVID checks on people arriving in England from green and amber list destinations.

Leaked instructions, seen by the newspaper, state officials no longer have to verify if they have received a negative test.

They also reportedly no longer have to check if they have booked an upcoming test or have a passenger locator form showing where they will isolate if needed.

The government said airlines were legally required to carry out the necessary checks.

"But when the tourist resorts go out of business, poverty runs rife all round the Med coast, millions, yes millions find themselves out of jobs and the EU tourist industry suffers a major collapse because there are no high spending Brits and lockdown zones have to be reintroduced, I wonder whether the commission will be so smug then? Finnish airline carrying out trial of COVID travel pass

The airline Finnair is carrying out a trial of a COVID travel pass between London Heathrow and Helsinki airports, according to The Telegraph.

Passengers can use the certificate to prove their vaccine and/or test status.

The trial is being carried out between 14 July and 11 August on flights in both directions between London and the capital of Finland.

@Fugazi: Take it from an old pro, this share is going to shine. In the last week less than 1 in 10 of all Covid patients in hospital have been double jabbed and 75% of all new cases are adults aged below 30. The link is broken and we are going back to normal within a couple of weeks. If this share is not 250p by the 1st of September, I will eat my slippers. Don’t be a fool, get on board.

The stockbroker downgraded the easyJet stock to neutral from outperform on 14 July, and gave it an 850p price target. “We have revised numbers into the 20 July statement, where we expect losses larger than Q1 (more than £425m) with low activity levels and ramp-up costs.” It forecasts a pre-tax loss of £1.13bn in 2021 before a recovery to profit of £195m in 2022 and £505m in 2023.
