Cheers Seabright. Always a broad and reasoned view. Many moons ago I recall attending a commemoration of the founding of my students union. A strong field of worthies were expected to speak. Due to the presence of the then secretary of defence Mr Heseltine , there was an enormous contingent of really angry folks waiting for the attendee’s. A long lonely walk with fury on either side. Ahead was a fellow , Impeccably dressed and sauntering. This gentleman gets to the top of the stairs first and turns around and says ‘ you know it’s just like the Russian revolution’ . A direct descendant of Tolstoy and it has to be said not of the left, he gave a decent speech. I thought Robin Cook was the best and John Smith held the audience. Even for those who have different political views they were imo more intellectually capable and principled men than the average honourable member today. Anyway I digress whilst holidaying but best not to play a role to please others or from a false conception of yourself. Also dont let the mob put you off. I’ve been happy to add on recent weakness 👍
