Depends what your end game and how patient you can be, which is different for every individual.
Having been sat with Summit since 2012, it was only in September 2024 that I was finally able to derisk my investment.
As such, I can now ride this to wherever it may end up. To be clear, that is not an attempt to show off; instead, just a context for my own approach, as per the below.
My first personal target will be the hopeful success in the P3 tests that lead to commercialisation, although I am unfamiliar with the strategy of the company at this point: do it themselves, license it out, a takeover ... ?
The bump in SP value came from the Keytruda comparison in lung cancer treatment; however the company is also pursuing up to 3 other cancer treatment targets, if memory serves, each with its own challenges and own respective market value multiplier.
I would hope that this operational update (https://www.smmttx.com/pressrelease/https-www-smmttx-com-wp-content-uploads-2025-02-2025_pr_0218_announcement-of-q4-and-ye-2024-earnings-call-_-final-pdf/) might provide updated timelines as to what this P3 roadmap might look like, the stance of the FDA with regard to the SMMT approach, and whether the new government will impede or accelerate this further.
And so in answer to your question: there may well be market important news that shifts the price but for me THE target remains the anticipated successful P3 results and next steps thereafter. But each to their own, adapt your strategy to your own risk appetite, DYOR, etc etc.
