Not unusual - dividend payable is subject to AGM approval so qualification date can be any time prior to payment date. For example lloyds - dividend declaration 29th Jan, ex dividend date April 9th , AGM Approval 14th may, payment Date 19th May.

Understand the reasoning for portfolio balancing - not quite had a single share portfolio but certainly a dominant holding one -which was a roller coaster ride, kept the holding but diversfired, so now have 5 large holdings inc 750k shares showing a near 70% average increase - my regret is too many in my trading account as opposed to sip and ISA. I view these as a long term hold so come what may tomorrow I am in for the ride - hoping it repeats my RR experience - will allay regret it having bought more , and having taken some profits along the way!

Most Jv's are set up as 50/50 to keep accounts off the balance sheet - a good way to keep debt from being consolidated!!
