This has been a top star crisis management event from a company called carapita for years. The way they've handled this is unrecognisable from how they would have before JL.

Not only have they handled it well but the PR was on point and killed "the fire" like NoFear is saying in one weekend.

I like balanced arguments and attack nonsense on both sides. It takes the time it takes and no two issues are the same. Your CV is very impressive especially as it seems to change in every post. Now it's specialised in IT.

THE BoD were brought in to fix Capita, we have had a major pandemic and a war in Europe plus the resulting inflationary and economic downturn that this caused.

Our biggest customer are the government and they are broke.

The truth is anyone who has invested here since 2020 has invested in a turnaround strategy which is baring fruits. Company now in growth and debt almost gone.

You talk of IT issues being resolved in matter of hours in banking of all places. Clearly no one reads the papers and how NatWest data leak cost them billions and took over a week to solve. Not every issue is equal.

That Capita focused on solving and securing the vulnerability rather than rushing to get the system online was the right way to go.

Again, need to take and correct TerryM1 post and final paragraph:
1. Did not take down the whole system.
2. a day or 2 is absolutely nothing to find the vulnerability, fix it and bring the system back up in an orderly manner when you have thousands of employees and external users on it. We can afford 1 day of salaries, what a ridiculous argument. It would have been a lot more costly not to take the system down.
3. The system was taken down to protect data and fix vulnerability.
4. No system is "attack" proof NONE!!
5. There was no data breach which is what really matters. The cost on reputation and legal would have been astronomical. This shows they have solid processes to deal with attacks or issues of this type. I rather they took their time, here 2 days to resolve the issue than rush it to please Terry
6. TerryM1 doesn't know anything about IT

Issues happen in business. What is important is not that it happen but how they dealt with it. As far as I am concerned I am please with their response.

No one is immune to it. As far as we know not data was lost. You lot are hard to please.

Cyber incident does mean cyber incident. Also, there is no system bulletproof to ever be hot by malicious activity. Every system has a vulnerability.

What matters is not that they did get "a cyber attack" or not but how they dealt with it.

They've proven that they have solid crisis management.

They dealt with the situation really well. Problems happen what matters is how management deals with it.

The issue was contained quickly, no internal or external sensitive data was lost.

They are all Microsoft services and will be part of the same package, and hosted on the same servers.

Server outage is absolutely nothing every business gets them.

The Guardian shouldn't be speculating like that. Could be absolutely anything. Servers crash happen. Saying right away it a cyber attack is not on.

I think pressure now needs to be put on the BoD on the marketing/PR front. Shareholders have been patient enough and they have not delivered on that front.

I believe and would like to hear all thoughts, that in the current state of the companies valuation by the market a monthly update would also be welcome.

It makes you wonder what will happen when the IPO happen. Could be a game changer.
