Drewky I still have never learnt when to take a bloody profit as I get too greedy. The day of the aex deal I could have quickly sold out at profit at 3.5p or thereabouts but as per normal got greedy even though my brain was telling me to sell!! Obviously I realise you guys are waiting for significantly higher than that but I certainly should have bloody done that!! Would have saved you guys some stress as well lol!

Do you know something it's interesting I was looking at putting 10k GBP in at about 2p immediately after the news. Knowing me I'd not have sold any and if lucky, this morning may have been very lucky to get out at roughly the same buy price. A really good pretend lesson for me as I'd looked at price rise and half regretted not buying any but also, still even after 30 years investing I haven't learnt when to take profits even when pretend buying lol!!

Any BPC'ers on here? Could be 'painful' today.

Bucklerfern that's actually a good measured post. Let's put the great J salary review in perspective. Why was it so 'low' in the first place is a good starting question? Maybe because he's never earned that kind of package before? Maybe because he and the bod of aex could not justify to him and themselves such a large uplift for him from previous positions? Maybe he was then on a "show us you're worth the normal package of a 'proper' listed company" type of deal? So if all the above "maybes" are correct we've got to ask ourselves has he in fact "proved" that LOL!! All imho of course and a lot of maybes but, really why was he paid so low in first place and after such a pfmce why has he been so highly rewarded?

Crl if you don't mind me asking, as per earlier post you must have some big losses or were they offset by other investments? Either way hopefully a 'good' cgt carry forward to offset against trin gains hopefully soonish!! Best of luck all.

Lol crl!! Blimey you've taken a few losses there! Sorry for that geyser. Have you 're couped these in other investments or got 'nice' cgt losses to offset in the future against (hopefully) your trin profits!?

Matherdj at the risk of getting accused of de ramping I never questioned this being a 'managed situation'. If you want to use those words then it would be a mis managed situation that led to those circumstances. This is why I think it suits zubs to have aex as existing entity in current state as they could have easily left aex to rot and taken what they wanted from the carcass. However to be clear regardless of how aex mis managed us into this situation, has nothing to do with zubs whatsoever and, we should be grateful for their 'saving' us. Unless kn1 remediated we will limp along with stated strategy for us again to be sold down 'cheaply' which is why I have kept on and on about cash ctrl and keeping costs down AND efficient return on human resource. Something of which I personally think they have been very poor at in the past.

Tarry wtgr the on shore assets if aex would not even be in the radar of top 10 oil companies. Had they been they may have looked at farming in quite some time ago perhaps?

Drewky I was just talking about cash position. There is simply not enough visibility to be able to objectively assess that was all. I am very happy with all my other assessments of aex matey and there have been multiple reasons to back those up!

Edgar at al. I've got to admit I'm with crusty on this. Quite simply we don't have visibility or information to help us make objective analysis. My experience of aex is whilst that is happening always think worse rather than positive. Also why taking so long? In the circumstances I'd have rushed the financials through to potentially speed up deal signing and subsequent reduction of costs bwtfdik? I'm happy for redress in selling at the moment but the bod really need to start earning their salaries as they really seem lower quartile in ANY pfmce at all! What is one man's 'negative views' is another's realistic assessment. All imho of course.
