It depends on the tax status of the sale.
If a full company sale then capital gains tax
If a special dividend and partial asset sale then dividend tax
Big difference in the tax rates.
Check the HMRC for the rules and prevailing tax rates.

Hi Ian
I hope you are keeping well.
First guess from me on the date of thee RNS and I will stick with the price I gave back in last November.
Date : 16 October 2020, the day before my birthday.
The amount per share : £1.50
I would not be surprised if it were more, but will stick with the £1.50
Remember everyone, Lennon at 80 tonight at 21:00 on Radio 2.
Cheers

Thanks very much for your considered opinion following the research you have done on EUA. Your research would have shown that you are in a minority of a small handful.
The board here would welcome you posting this research you have done. Clearly you are trying to help us all by encouraging us to sell our shares at the current level before it crashes.
Looking forward to your informative structured intelligent response.
Many thanks from all the shareholders.

I know, don't worry.
My Mother was from England, I married a girl from England and I now live in England.
I now fully understand and appreciate the comment - there is no more patriotic Sots than those in England!

If the company is sold your shares go with it. So you will not have any shares to keep in the new company. It is possible that the buyer offers a mix of cash and their shares to the existing shareholders or even no cash and only their shares. We will find out when any sale is announced.
If there is a partial sale then you will still have your shares and a special dividend of cash will be paid.
Time will tell.

Welcome back Rowka. I am the guy that tweeted you about the public group on Telegram. Liked your back story it was interesting and glad it had a happy ending. I am not too far from you, down in Shelley near the Emley Moor mast. Not sure if you saw the messages before re a EUA party if we get a good outcome. Will be in York let me know if you are interested. Anyway, just wanted to let you I have appreciated your posts and hard work.
Cheers.

Hi Ian
Thank you for the kind words, you are a true gent.
Remember my optimistic guess of £1.50 way back in November? Well looks like I may not have been optimistic after all! I will resist having another go so will just stick with that one.
Things getting tense in my household now - my son gets his non-exam A Level results next week and my daughter is readying her new house for moving in. Funnily enough she has delegated a lot of tasks to me!
A result here will mean I can ignore my redundancy and get used to retirement. Football restarted last Saturday so enjoying that. Hope you and yours are keeping well and any wounds inflicted by those nasty botflies are fully heeled.
Stay safe
