International Paper declined 15% after Brazilian company Suzano said it terminated discussions to acquire the Memphis paper maker. According to reports, Suzano, the world’s largest pulp manufacturer, had offered to buy International Paper IP

for about $15 billion. International Paper, meanwhile, said earlier this week its pending acquisition of U.K. packaging company DS Smith for more than $7 billion cleared a key U.S. regulatory hurdle.

All we get from SMS, is what he has done in the past, maybe he should concentrate more on sorting out this mess. I'm beginning to think he has run out of ideas.

I wish Barclays would get their act together and post the dividend, Halifax and AJ Bell posted div on Friday, so why can't Barclays? Always have to be the last for some reason.

So true, S8. Which is why, I never stop buying, no matter how bad it seems. Forget the scaremongers on here, a recovery is always around the next corner.

Does anybody know why the share price is taking such a beating, have looked everywhere to find out why. Nothing from the company (not unusual) as they don't communicate. Looked on the company website, just in case I have missed something. If anybody can enlighten me, would be grateful.

I have these shares with IG Index and AJ Bell, IG Index paid a dividend from SYNT and AJ Bell did not. One is right and the other is wrong. After a long discussion with IG Index's helpful staff, this is their reply
" Hi, so after investigation, it looks like the dividend is correct, nevertheless if there is any other news we will update you ", OK, so make of that, what you will.

I thought the dividend was cancelled, not complaining but I rec'd the dividend today.

The share price is going down faster than the Titanic and now the dividend has been cancelled, can this get any worse? Who the hell is running this company and what is their level of competence, exactly?

Just added here at 358, did anybody achieve a lower quote, just asking because the price quoted seems to be all over the place.

As a long-term investor, I will be taking advantage of this big fall. Most tenants are tied into long-term deals, that have only upwards rent increases, so no reason on earth for this sudden drop.

I will have more confidence in this stock, If SMS bought some here and not just a few, but actually buys big, after all this is his baby and we are in a mess of his making. So over to you SMS.

At long last, we have somebody running the company, who actually knows what he is doing and in which direction we should be going. Commercial realism has finally arrived in the boardroom.

SMS better have a good explanation for why this has happened, otherwise we could have a crisis of confidence in his stewardship. Remember the buck stops at the top, over to you, SMS.

That's right, an opportunity to buy more at lower prices. The management are extremely competent in executing their acquisition plan, no reason to bail out. Not many shares in existence anyway, which helps to support the share price. I have been invested here since they were 20p.

Just seen on CNBC SNG is now trading @18
