I'll see if i get out that way, only in dar at the moment... Been raining
How do i share photos here?
Although tempted i won't. It'll save aerials blood pressure and stop me being kicked off here.
Let's just assume if there isn't news then there isn't change!!!
If you quote a paragraph, please include it all.
This should have happened within 60 days of the 1st September agreement date. It has now been delayed and is expected to take place in November. Nothing has been announced to say ot has!!
Could tell you but this board won't allow it!!!
Spoke with guys on site yesterday
Let's be honest, even if the power station did go ahead, it's going to be 5 or 6 years before any coal os fed to it. It need a feasibility, financing, planning, permitting and construction.
The project needs to stay afloat for the period so the focus for edl needs to be industrial coal supply
That's for you to work out.
All i can say is i got my business visa on arrival and an Indian guy next to me did the same.
The coal power plant really is a dream. I've just finished dinner with a hydro/solar company and discussed the interconnectors. There's enough hydro once the interconnectors are in for all of east Africa and coal power doesn't fit with funding by the world bank or the majority of chinese banks. I still believe the industrial coal demand is in east Africa but this must be focused on.
Currently in east Africa. No covid restrictions and business visas on arrival into Tanzania. Only a temperature check at tbe airport and a health declaration
The edl coal is the most northerly and westerly coal in southern Africa on the deposit running north from Mozambique. Hence, all the coal will go north, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda drc and Western Kenya. The lake is a good transport route. The south of edl is covered by tancoal.
The majority can get a visa on arrival into Tanzania, tourist or business. Shouldn't be a major delay, no covid restrictions either. I was there last month

I suggest you read the last section about sumbwanga power. The majority comes from Zambia. With the interconnector, it will link to the east Africa grid including kenya and the new dam in Ethiopia.
Over capacity from the hydro in Zambia. If you look at the lines to be installed, the sumbwanga line was a branch, not a primary. If sumbwanga was to be the source it would be a primary line
I believe this has potential but very high risk. Too many on this board seem to be carried along with the hype and I'm trying to bring some balance. I don't think i have ever said it is bad, wouldn't be here if i did. What it needs is some serious investment, not only on the equipment but also on the resource to bring it to a reserve. Once there then the right approach can be made for equipment and processing methods.
I don't believe there will be a power plant but there is a market on east Africa to make this successful.
I was actually answering a question posted by esquimo.
Let's be honest, even if there was only 40Mt (25%) of sellable coal at $10 profit, this is still a potentially fantastic company
That was the simple version for a simple person.
There are far more detailed papers available, use any search engine.
Dyor.
I would start by looking at mineral resources classification of Wikipedia and then look at what edl state they have.
All i am saying is there is a difference between resources and reserve. Just because it is in the ground it doesn't mean it can be economically mined. There is also the question of the status, to build a full economic model, the coal should be classed as a proven or probable reserve.
It is acknowledged the coal is mixed with other materials hence the need for a wash plant, not necessarily poor quality in itself, just a messy formation so the impurities have to be removed.
Everyone seems transfixed on 173Mt but i would be surprised if 25% of it could sold as a clean product.
Why did my posts get deleted, the resource tonnages for measured, indicated and inferred came from the may 2019 investor presentation and the definition of resource and reserve came from google. The economics are not proven until it is a reserve.
Thank you.
I'm keeping quiet, people don't like what i say!!
Sad but typical of the modern world that we live. If someone says something that is disagreeable it gets removed. There no open debate and discussion, everyone has to be pc and comply.
