I use Trading 212 and they have just posted the following;
"In the interest of mitigating risk for our clients, we have temporarily placed Gamestop and AMC Entertainment in reduce-only mode as highly unusual volumeshave led to an unprecedented market environment. New positions cannot be opened, existing ones can be reduced or closed".
I am not up to speed on how everything works in the world of stocks and shares yet, but this sounds a bit dodgy like "no you can't by shares and make money at the moment, only sell them to bail out our pals ". Am I right or completely misreading this?

Exactly what I said to myself Larky. Unfortnately not able to buy multiple 1000s like some, but I'm very excited about this and believe I will be getting multiples of my ivestment (average 14.7p) in the near future. GLA

Trying to buy 1000 on my Trading 212 and, as usual, i believe they are waiting til the Buy price goes up a bit so this "no comission" platform can make a comission! VERY frustrating for me as a small investor trying to top up! But hey, don't mind an extra £2.50 if this is going to do what I think(and hope) it will!

Thanks for the explanation Lindon. As I say, complete novice to the investment game so it makes it tricky to research things when you don’t know the words/phrasing of what it is you are looking for. I have found this BB useful and am picking up the lingo as I go, so again thanks for the explanation.

Hi folks, total novice investor here. I’ve had BMN for about 3 months and only a small amount, but been steadily adding. I have one question, if the company lists on the JSE as Fortune just mentioned on the TV, does this mean it comes off AIM?
I have an account with trading 212 and they don’t have JSE and so if it comes off AIM they would sell my shares for me! I obviously don’t want this to happen!!! I’ve tried t’internet for answers, but can’t find a precedent. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Morning all, another first time poster and very new investor.
I’ve only just taken the plunge and started investing some of my pay for the future. I have a young family and can’t invest much so have to choose carefully.
I stumbled across BVM on a Fool.com article a few months ago and then came on here to have a gander. The knowledge and excitement got to me and I took the plunge! I hold a tiny amount compared to most of you 2.5k, but am toppping up with )10-20 quid when I have it spare.
All the research, knowledge and insight you guys bring to the table is very much appreciated for a novice like me. I will be holding and topping up for the long term.
