I think SMR is the solution to increased electricity demand. To convert all the heating, cars some heavy goods transportation and maintain current demand for power we need to upgrade the grid to x3 or even x4 if we consider future rise in power. This looks like an impossible task. I doubt we can increase the voltage any further to keep the current copper so that means we need to increase the diameter on these wires x3 or x4.

With locally generated power (this can also be solar wind and even battery storage) the grid becomes a balancing circuit - transporting only the difference.

Whatever happens I think SMR will inevitably happen and RR has a solution.

@Ballsofsteel82 Just genuine question: Why is the market cap too low for rights issue? Is that a regulatory issue?

RI will be tricky. There are a few big and controlling investors holding big percentages would have to match their holdings to protect them from dilution. This is good learning curve for me. Sure PFC is not a Mickey-mouse company and there is a lot of manipulation going on. So it's easy to be on the opposite side when this is so obvious.

:)) I was thinking exactly the same and for quite some time now. It's a win-win if the shorters have done it!

Johnychainlocker, this makes sense - this could be why the "shorts" are holding their short positions still at this price. They could make profit if they close their short positions now but profit will be higher if they close their positions after dilution.

Amers, many thanks for stepping in! It would be great to see more info on what happens when there is share dilution and open short positions. I couldn't find info on this online.

Here is a hypothetical question:

If you short PFC and the company goes into rights issue to fix the cashflow problems then when it comes to closing the short position do you have to return back the same number of shares but diluted as the result of rights issue?

If the answer is yes then this is what the hedge funds are waiting for.
