Cancellation of treasury shares



As the Company's cumulative treasury shares have been building up from its various buyback programmes, it is adopting a policy to reduce and maintain their numbers below 10% of total issued share capital from time to time. Accordingly, the Company announces today the cancellation of 500 million treasury shares.

The Company furthermore announces the transfer of 50 million treasury shares, for nil consideration, to the Company's employee benefit trust (EBT) to satisfy potential awards under the Company's employee share schemes.

Following these actions, as of opening of dealings today, the total number of ordinary shares in treasury was 1,088,074,958, representing approximately 8.4% of the Company's total issued share capital.

Well have left it a further year for signs of improvement. Seems in all that time the sp has declined another 8p.
Going nowhere fast at all.
Any ideas why that is???

Turnaround taking longer than I expected but not surprising for a fairly illiquid share. Debt is at much more acceptable levels and work should improve over H2. Divvies will be back (I hope) soon. Will hold until Y/E where I will dump if not seen a decent SP increase.

What i dont understand about all these boards is why those who are clearly so poor at investing, like those suckered dummies well underwater in the rag seller, or those with "heavy" investements in other vastly lower stocks like Ezy and Iag, think that anybody gives a flying fig what they think or post about anyway?
Their content, despite claiming expertice, is never about the stock, because the claimed expertice is merely fluffly rowlocks or abusive, trying to cover up their abject failing to meet the sole object as an investor - i.e. to make money rather than lose it.
Does provide a good level of entertainment for the more savvy, at the expense of board cluttering.

So much going on that the different scenarios are limitless, so troublesome to keep guessing at to form any sort of cohesive opinions. Need the washing machine drum to stop spinning first.
Either way, most people on these boards are playing with 'spare' cash (risking what they can afford to lose in the markets at most), so if they feel like helping out somewhere maybe a good plan to donate that 'spare' cash to someone less fortunate.
Struggling to see the queue forming though, anyone?
