indeed- just watched it. Read "heat" by george monbiot though before betting big on biofuels. Forthcoming legislation is making biofuel stocks look promising for growth but long term I would worry that the dubious environental benefits of them will reverse this legislation. Palm oil plantations are destroying the rainforests of papua, kalimantan and borneo. Renova makes ethanol from corn which is ethically easier to stomach but the minor carbon benefits once processing is considered make me uncertain about the future trend of the industry. I bought a chunk of Geiger Counter (GCL) today on TDW (by phone only) because despite my reservations about nuclear, I think its the only viable way of producing energy on a large scale without increasing carbon.
No mention of M&A activity but stonking results from TFL:- "Theo Fennell PLC its full-year adjusted pretax profit more than doubled led by the popularity of its design-led and distinctive products and the strength of its brand, adding that trading in the first two months of the current year is outperforming the year-ago period. The international jeweller's pretax profit before exceptional items rose to 1.63 mln stg for the year to March 31, 2007 from 732,451 last year. It posted a pretax profit of 1.37 mln stg in the period, while turnover grew 30 pct to 25.4 mln stg. In the year ahead the group will focus on developing the brand with the expansion of its international network, the introduction of new collections and continued high level marketing, Theo Fennell said."
cheers for heads up - i'm back in again, though bailed from POG.
errr.. "logistical issues"???? LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Interactive Gaming Holdings PLC said its full-year results will be delayed due to 'unforeseen logistical issues' and its shares will therefore be suspended with immediate effect. The online sports betting and gaming operator said its annual audited accounts to Nov 31, 2006 will not be finalised in time to send to shareholders by May 31.
at 23.31 you post this "BLNX. dasv the truce is with you old son". at 23.36 on ATUK, a distinctly un-truce-like set of petty jibes. GedW, you fight like a girl. Why not be a man, stop scratching faces and pulling hair, and deal with the matter at hand? Or are you too gutless? 1. How many of the stocks you post RNS's and make positive comments about do you have in your portfolio? 2. Is Onlooker your "attack-dog" when things get a bit much for you? And I'm still interested in seeing your figures for the RCG/SERV tie-up. Seriously
nope: rns reveals all:- 24 May 2007 RESULT OF AGM and SHARE CONSOLIDATION The Company announces that at its Annual General Meeting, held earlier today, all resolutions proposed were duly passed. Consequently the proposed share consolidation, on the basis of 1 new ordinary share of 50p ("New Share") for every 50 ordinary shares of 1p each, will become effective and dealings will commence on AIM at 8.00 a.m. on Friday 25 May 2007.
results of EGM out. Market has taken them very positively so far:- http://www.londonstockexchange.com/LSECWS/IFSPages/MarketNewsPopup.aspx?id=1491468&source=RNS
a lot of the net asset value is intangibles though. After this, they won't be worth nearly as much - remove the intangibles and the financial position looks even worse. It's debt heavy which doesnt' make it an attractive punt in my opinion.
than this (sorry)
glue - not worth the risk IMHO. It could be a long wait for any recovery. Better stocks out there and this.
When I trialled a sell this morning - was thinking of cleaning up a few positions for the weekend, I thought there must have been a mistake. The sp was showing 61p. I finally got out at a pathetic 49p! Should have had a stop in place but there you go.
SP down massively to 55p in early morning trading. There's a massive bolt for the door:- SMC Group Plc provides the following interim trading update ahead of a board meeting to be held on Wednesday 30 May 2007. Following his appointment three months ago, Executive Chairman Sir Rodney Walker has received initial findings from a review into the recent financial underperformance of the Group carried out at his request. This review has analysed operational processes across the Group including revenue forecasting, pipeline of new business, efficiency of resourcing, integration and the cost base of the Group. The Board believe that initial findings together with the results of trading for the financial year to date may lead to a significantly reduced profit expectation for the six months to June 2007.
please read my comments on BLNX. re-read my post below- you don't seem to have understood it yet. I am still waiting for answers to my questions, GedW, your silence with regard to them leads me to think I'm on to something.
patience my friend. Fundamentals look sound to me. It's only a matter of time.
keep an eye on this one. Sub 50 now, EGM tomorrow.
"was trying to help you out guys" - yeah by saying I am stupid. Thanks for that. "I will get onlooker on the case before then":- Interesting GedW, interesting. Is Onlooker your attack dog? BTW I'm sure admin is big and bad bad enough to fight their own battles. Sometimes I think you are either a shareholder of lse the way you act like you own the place. And one last thing, accusing Davius, Glue and I of attempting to ramp is pretty rich coming from someone who pushes appalling half-baked companies which have and will never make a profit to the casual reader (who are mostly amateurs) and then never admits when they got it wrong.
Sorry for off topic all you ATUK holders out there, Davius - will give the challenge a consideration. I suggest we restrict the pot to a fixed amount and we should also ignore transaction fees as these may vary. E.g. if you had picked last month for comp then I could have traded commission fee free from TDW because I'm currently in my trial period ending this month ;)
debts sector under spotlight cos banks are looking to reduce IVA fees and make fees payable in installment. Cannot comment on Accuma, but have a small amount of DETS shares. A similar story in both companies. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/investing-and-markets/article.html?in_article_id=420505&in_page_id=3
I sold perhaps because I am taking the recent sp increase as a bit of mass crowd hysteria, but then again the rise could be fundamentals based. Another factor affecting my sale was that I hadn't researched this one at all and just rolled the dice so was very happy to get out so soon with a profit. Maybe now I'm out I'll research the company a bit more and buy back in on weakness.
