To me it read like a ramp. Just the way I interpreted it. No offence meant, Tiptop. . Of course, you can say what you like here.
Everyone touchy, as the BoD are being inert and impotent, as usual.
I have reservations about the outcome of this bid business.
TipTop - I read your comment as an out and out ramp, badly disguised.
Yes Haggis. A really nasty piece of work that Phil Corbett. A snake.
Alistair Stobie (1st CFO)knew something was up before it all went pear shaped. That’s why he walked. He would be the one to really know whether Trice held real credibility
I have always said, “ Why don’t CA buy HUR themselves?. They would just breakaway and morph into an listed O&G company?”. They have already made £40m from HUR and with a lowball bid and their 29%, they control the outcome. They could then just sit on the their hands and milk P6 forever. It’s obviously not a rocket science job, as we have seen by the present incumbents! If I held CA I would vote yes to the plot. What is their downside?
horse1 - Ha ha ha ha ..... Excellent joke !
In all my 77 years, I have never known a CEO+CFO so disliked and unfit for the post.
Hopefully, good riddance!
Yes Haggis, I wish I hadn't taken that advice. One can only blame oneself. Hanging in there to the bitter end....mine or HUR's.
GloucesterR - Excellent post. ! Thank you.
Another reason to be cheerful - Bids can be withdrawn…….
Simples You are right ! Good comment. Jack always comes first. And I mean CA’s own shareholders, not HUR’s.
‘Trust no one’, is a safe mantra. Especially in this den of vipers……
Don't really like the timing of the announcement. Often companies do this during busy holiday periods so their notices will be 'casually glanced over' and forgotten. Often a sign of a more sinister agenda....
But, being curious, I'm staying in.
"I will wait and see what they're bringing to the table before commenting further. Currently all I see is a blind offer with a penalty attached from a person with a history of underhand tactics to take control of businesses.."
.......Totally agree. Reasons to be fearful. Reasons to be fearful. 1-2-3.
OK, maybe not a coup attempt. Bad choice of words on my part.
Why is it I feel we are going to get screwed by this? Dilution again. Probably on a grand scale. It stinks of a plot, rather than a plan. Can anyone see how it’s going to end well? …I must admit - it’s all too complicated, contrived, and sinister for my simple mind.
Good post Gloucester.
Also, £300 million in exchange for what? Control of HUR? Is this another coup attempt? People have had years to put in £300million. Why just now, when fossil fuels are unpopular? What is their exit?
Stinks to me....
Either way, it will be cheap at the price !
Warren - Good debate argument.
Mr. Modest people like me ! FFS !
And there's you shoving your rubbish down our throat! And no, he(sense) has not learnt everybody's respect and support. This BB has morphed into a bunch of 'holier than thou' evangelists spouting drivel.
Stick to HUR please, or some of us with our 'problems' will really bore you to death.
The classic one was the "Black Lives Matter" scam.. Hundreds of millions of US $ Dollars were given by sudden guilt, conscience, and peer pressure. It all went walkabout. Don't hear the BLM slogan much anymore....
BTW, It was their own who misappropriated the money. Donors are embarrassed.
Ridiculous! I am definitely NOT IN.
Do you know the said landlord’s side of the story? Nope!
What has all this attention seeking got to do with HUR anyway?
