As I understand it there will be a surplus of cobalt next year and the major battery manufacturers are developing new materials to replace cobalt entirely. Perfect timing by RRR.

Battery operated vehicles will be in the ascendance for the next 20 or 30 years but then the hydrogen economy will dominate. Hydrogen can already be safely transported as NH4 and methods of generating it are becoming more cost effective. It will never run out and doesn't have to be mined, with the consequential damage caused by the mining operation.
