The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Another big buying day, looks like a couple of M today on top of yesterdays 1M+. A nice buy of 650K means its not only the smaller punters who are buying but now people with a couple of hundred thousand in the bank - nice! I am glad I topped at the low 20ps. FUM is ready for a major re-rating, although I dont expect the SP to go mad until the new year. Bets on how soon it will be out of the 20ps?
Well over 1M shares purchased today - is this the start weve been waiting for? Looks encouraging with the big seller obviously out of the way now, taking a 1M out of the market is significant. Buy, buy, buy whilst still in the 20ps.
Hi guys don't get too enthusiastic about this company. It's still controlled by the family and I would guess each member wouldn't dare sell unless it was a takeover. It used to have a huge cash pile, then they bought the millstone and incurred losses, plus the huge pension scheme deficit, and the very poor management, doesn't add up to an inviting prospect! The father of the sons now "running" the business had a very tight ship, an excellent reputation, and built the company up to having masses of cash and an excellent customer list. I attended several annual meetings when the sons took over and suggested several areas to be looked at, but to no avail. I held shares which cost several times the current quote and was against frittering away the cash pile, also I suggested that they should get a wholesaling expert to run the business - no chance! The family shareholders were aghast at the thought of a non family member being in charge - now look at it! Be warned it's not investable as the dragons would say.
We are selling something for 27.5M but the company share price valuation is only 25M and we have most of the business still! How can this be?
To me its obvious that an institution has/is selling.as the persistent fall, whilst the fundamentals are the same, points to that. OK it hasnt been helped by the loss of a potential major distributor, but im glad that the company hasnt had a kneejerk reaction to that, and is assessing its options calmly. I for one am taking this as a buying opportunity as i did when it was last in the 20p's and i made a nice profit from doing so. Hang on guys this is still going to be a winner.
Ijr1 Fum will win, why? because of the range of quality and desired products, the huge holdings of James Barder and family (around 15% of company) and the standing which the industry holds the products and the Directors. Dont forget the money put in recently from institutions - they don't still invest at this stage without good reason and without expecting significant returns. The current share price reflects the loss of a potentially large distributor due to their reasons not product doubts, and a current dislike of smaller companies particularly AIM companies. Stick with it, and if you can, take advantage of the current price to buy more! In a year You'll be able to say I told you so!
Yes I'm another long term holder who topped up yesterday, actually I doubled up. RPC has Europe tied up regarding a packaging manufacturing and distribution company and is king in a fragmented market place. I'll eat my plastic bottle if RPC hasn't got back to £10 by this year end, then moves on from there. Great business and great company.
I agree with you daringinvestor patience is the key, ok difficult when you see all the pluses for this company, but it's the only way to get the best deal. I feel glad that we don't have the government doing our negotiations, at least we have a knowledgable and dedicated team who are ALL working for the same cause!
Me too. I've just bought some more. I've made good money from this share by buying when it's low and selling with 10, 20 and even 30% markups and a doubling up when buying in the 20p's. however my core holding remains as I too see that this share has so much potential it's hard to believe! Hold on folks fireworks during this year:)
Stockmarket valuation of £380K! You would expect a takeover at this price, so it must be in a mess if no one is interested. Mannnan di you manage to get rid of your shares?
Because it looks as if this once cash cow is going to the wall. Local info says the staff are totally unmotivated, the management in turmoil, and the business is non profit making. The sons have much to answer for and should be called to account! This is a very simple business, you buy, stock and sell products. The overhead should be totally forcastable so good quality buying and appropriate selling prices are what is required. An inappropriate takeover in an effort to get the acquired company to trade the total group out of trouble, was absurd, and it mopped up cash at a time when cash was going to be required to keep the original business going. I tried several times to point out where problems lay, the last time with no response. Some Arrogant and inappropriately qualified family directors are 100% to blame, and who ruined a strong and viable business now worth no more than £500,000. . . . . . . . . . . . . How the mighty are fallen.
I agree that getting it licensed is a priority and is the only way to open the door to the large markets. Getting a quicker boner when you want it is a most appealing offer to those who can't normally get one, and as I understood it FUM were trying to get their product through the official channels as an over the counter product. Surely that is where the huge markets are therefore it's the way to go? I ask you as an industry member with far more inside knowledge than myself!
On the pain cream, their data shows huge increase in it working quicker, x8 was one quote, that not just a small advantage but a huge one! The pain relief lasts longer as well, and these two advantages put it well in front of anything on the market currently and will help a significant market size - I can't wait for it for my own use! I can't sign cheques any more . . . . . . . . . I agree it's not the next Viagra. It's a new much higher level of help which takes effect very quickly therefore is spontaneous as opposed to Viagra that has to be planned, and it has far fewer side effects than Viagra - IF I had a use for it (!) I wouldn't even consider Viagra if FUM's product were available.
Sorry but I've only just looked at Sepura as it's received a 20p bid but the shares are at 13p. Surely this is a no brainer or am I missing something?
Quite a few derogatory remarks about marketing - don't you think there could be a reason for this apparently low key retail marketing effort, i.e. marketing to the major internationals who are interested in FUM and its products? FUM has the in house expertise for this, and it makes sense to use this to promote products, results of testing, and global opportunities to these organisations who are the people who will give us the enormous profits we all know this business will yield, through buying the products or their rights, or bid for the complete portfolio. If half the products prove to be commercial then I think £2 is the minimum we can expect! I was very pleased to buy four lots at around 46/47p yesterday as I agree that it's a no brainer!
Director buys another batch -;1M this time! What's happening?
I think they are on the move! Kestrel is a big shareholder with about 3M shares and have increased last year. I've found them a good investment company to follow their purchases so I've managed to pick up 100K in bits and pieces over the past couple of trading days. They are majoring on home energy efficiency products and installation, also home improvements and insulation products with ongoing repair and maintainence agreements, so they cover the selling, advice, installation and maintainence with the same staff and on a national basis and with low central overheads. Kestrel have a man advising them and through him and good HO people they seem to be moving forward quite nicely. Hope this helps.
Hi Guys just joined the ship with 40,000 @ 39p no problem buying at that price. As you say the upside potential of this one looks enormous and the market must react soon (?)
Showing my ignorance, what do DGB do please?
