Agree John, in part, the catalyst to begin the cascade (herd mentality) begins with the market maker (it's in the name) and they will happily mop up cheap shares in a good co. knowing they can sell them back at a profit! It's they're job, and living! All the best (conspiracy theory, maybe!)

Can the MM also take a scare tactic approach when wanting to accumulate shares, ie, drop the bid, and collect cheap stop losses, and timid investors selling at a loss? All the best (different tactic, but tree shakes are common!)
