So yet again Apple beat - no surprise
All IQEs investors are interested in is iPhone X ( although the 8plus has TOF and will be a small revenue earner)
Its obvious the X has and IS selling well.
Forget about Apples revenue numbers-the message spelt out loud and clear is that the X is a rip-roaring success.
The KEY facts and a kick in the proverbials to the perennial naysayers is THESE statements from the CC
iPhone X surpassed our expectations and has been our top-selling iPhone every week since it shipped in November,"
The top-three selling phones worldwide were the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone 8
MOST IMPORTANTLY AND WILL BE MUSIC TO THE EARS IQE INVESTORS
Clarifying his statement, Cook added during the question and answers session that the iPhone X popularity has continued to the present, and is not just limited to the holiday quarter.
AND
Apple expects 13% to 17% unit growth of higher-priced iPhones with revenue $7B to $9B higher on the year. Expects sell-through to ACCELERATE during March quarter (compared to December).
I cant stand social media- faceslap, snapsh*te and Twitter- hotbeds of false news, false information, the internet should enable communication, it seems to do the opposite. Yet again the liberal and manipulative and uninformed press have deceived and have been proven wrong...but guess what it will ALL be repeated in 3 months.
Whatever.....of course within 6 months ALL flavours of iPhone not just the X will be equipped with IQE VCSELS, AND at least the iPad Pro too, since fingerprint recognition is finished at Apple, I guess their entire kit will have 3D sensing by this time next year.
3 BIG direct customers have reported so far this cycle Raytheon, Quorvo and Apple and AMS were massively positive ahead of official figures, their comments on 3D sensing were amazingly bullish and its ALL excellent news so far....roll on their and Skyworks reports Monday and Tuesday.
Oh and this, to get it off my chest, a little mind-therapy, perhaps.I missed the bit in the CC when Apple stated they were scrapping the X because of poor sales ;-) , so often repeated on this and other bbs by egregious miscreants,SHAME on those clueless people, shame on the analysts, shame on the press , including major British newspapers that once had credibility and prestige and shame on all those that sought to broadcast false mistaken and ridiculously wrong rumours.
