That"s an over 30 % rise now from the 28th March 13.25 and to me we are gaining a momentum hopefully to coincide with a growing belief that news is not far off at all. It is IMHO that i think investors have noticed it too. These welcome small blue days are increasing now, it feels as if any news, however positive will launch us back in the twenties. TF , a lovely story and post. Just got home from UCLH from my appointment for Pet Scan Results having been re diagnosed for lung cancer (for the third time), eight odd weeks ago now. Well after four years eleven months, and them being 99% sure it had returned, I have just been given the all clear of any trace of cancer. Hard to explain how I feel right now, there were no treatment options, still got my "terminal" tags from all the other conditions, but again seeing other patients as i have every week for five years, with missing limbs, blindness and incredible suffering and bravery, I just feel very humble, grateful and immensely relieved. Most importantly, I wanted to thank all you guys, and a few who have contacted me from other BBs with the same illness, for every ounce of kindness and support you have afforded to me these past five years. There have been many times it all got just too much. Wanted you to know how much it meant to me, and will always do. So a heartfelt thank you to so many, another good day here to finish it off too, incidentally. And finally TF, how weird you should post in reference to your friend from yesterday................."" Merck tackles front-line lung cancer in latest trial win Opining on Merck & Co�s latest Keytruda trial results Terry Chrisomalis says things are looking really good after the company had obtained its latest win. It reported positive news from its Phase III study known as KEYNOTE-042, which treated patients with front-line non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This piece of news will allow Merck to potentially target this market without the use of chemotherapy, Keytruda treatment alone as a monotherapy, which is a huge positive. A trial from Bristol-Myers Squibb with Opdivo failed to be successful in the front-line NSCLC setting as a monotherapy. This bodes well for Merck and its future of Keytruda sales. The Phase III trial met the primary endpoint of overall survival in this patient population. The risk still remains with respect to this trial because of two reasons. The first reason is that the overall survival number is not yet known. Despite that, Keytruda has proven itself as the first immunotherapy to achieve this endpoint in this patient population as a monotherapy. The second reason on why risk still remains is that the secondary endpoint of progression-free survival has yet to be revealed as well. Therefore, nobody knows if this endpoint will be met or not. That could then be a huge negative for Merck's stock. Still, the main concern for the Food and Drug Administration, on whether it will approve the drug or not, will be based on the primary endpoint. That means it will not be based on how the secondary endpoint turns out. Since this trial has shown an overall survival benefit (the primary endpoint of the study), then I have no doubt that the FDA will likely approve Keytruda in this setting.
