Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Hi Monty - Okay so fairly recent then. I've been in a while and agree seems oversold, but would like some confirmation that forward sales have resumed before adding more here. If they can quickly regain traction then the SP should hopefully do well over the next 1-2 years as normality resumes (touch wood!).
Wow, 210k shares is a good chunk! Do you mind me asking roughly how much of your portfolio that represents, and how long you have been invested in WJG overall?
@Velo - thoughts on ex-div SP movements thus far?
Agreed. I think they are due a Capital Markets day in autumn this year so by then we may have had sufficient movement for that to be a catalyst for the SP. It was reassuring to hear that one of the buyers in the two aborted sales has come back to the table.
Did anyone attend/see today's presentation via Investor Meet Company? Thoughts?
Undeveloped pipeline is approx £2b if I recall correctly, but in terms of forward sold developments there are a couple of good charts in the slides from the latest results call (on the WJG website) which are worth a look. I note the company also has an upcoming 'investor meet company' presentation on 2nd March which should be useful.
Thanks as always Velo for such a detailed post. Agree results on 21st (and clarity on divi) are likely to be next significant catalyst from here. Week today so not long to wait :)
I find it astounding to see this sitting at current levels. Yes its been a tough 6 months, but a well run business in a sector where demand is surely going to be very strong for years to come. To think it was rated higher than this (at approx 140p) in those dark, early days of the pandemic when the world was falling apart. Odd.
Velo, do you have an updated view on expectations as we move into the warmer climbs of Feb? I do enjoy your periodic musings :)
I wouldn't be concerned about that at all. In fact, it's a positive - having met the guy and having (reluctantly) done some business with him, I can confirm he is an absolute weapon. That's being polite.
The audio for the results presentation is available on the WJG website (just need to register) and is well worth a listen:

@stoodio "Best stock I hold"
What else is currently in your portfolio? If you don't mind me being nosey :)
Getting jacked? If only the SP would follow your lead....
Part of me thinks its only a matter of time before further sanctions lift the basket price again, and hopefully the SP will follow. Expecting a decent set of results in 3 weeks (ish) time which will hopefully re-ignite interest here, especially vs Q2.
@artrader haven't we already had the special divi this year? Or are you referring to the potential for another in 2023?
Very quiet indeed. Where's that man @stoodio when you need him?
With Q3 in the books, anyone care to project fag-packet results the announcement later this month?
@Velo Thanks for all the detailed insight, interesting stuff. It would be nice to see the SP back above 100 just for starters.
Very quiet on here of late - anyone have any thoughts on what to expect from Q3 results next month, assuming PGM prices remain unchanged up to QE?
I'd imagine it was an Excalibur-sized instrument after such a huge miss, so no surprise it took a while :0
Nevertheless, good to have you back old chap :)
Just catching up on here after a couple of weeks away, and great to see all the usual suspects on show, a real all-star cast.....love this board.
Here's hoping for the Santa rally.....or should that be the Stoodio rally? (Ho ho ho) :)
Could do with a pep talk at current levels.
marineclark / stoodio, where you at.......
I've been busy last few days so haven't been keeping tabs here.
Just checked in and surprised to see this back below 100. ......Any thoughts?
Or is it just that Stoodio finally sold :)
