Think this list shows that ofgem are focusing largely on price. And that in the middle of nowhere lithium is still a, or even the, viable option. But not everywhere is in the middle of nowhere and they'll be plenty of occasions in future for vanadium wins. Even so Frontier etc will know exactly why they chose invinity and its up to them to make their case with ofgem. Ie areas such as degradation where it was thought vrb were clear winners. All of a sudden lithium lasts 25 years?

It has been said here that Field is using batteries made in China. Surely ofgem will know if that's the case? But can't see confirmation. If so maybe a letter to the Times, guardian telegraph etc. Stating the future of uk energy security reliant on Chinese batteries would make an interesting story..

Hottest day of the year coincides with ofgem approving what looks like the absolute minimum in terms of contracts for attempting to get to net zero. Its not like they even paying for it. More has happened in the last 3 or 4 weeks than in the previous 10 years. Which was all about developing endurium. The flexbase news was the one supporters have been waiting 10 years for. It said so much about invinity and its credibility that was previously still a little uncertain. Now there's this news in the US. And soon hopefully cap and floor of course. Good times finally.

I think it's also worth remembering that the reason we're at 28p rather than 20p is because invinity won a contract to design the biggest flow battery in the world. From rough memory its will fill a hole that's 200m x 85m x 45m. That's quite a hole. Although only the design at the moment I like to think if you ask Ford to design you a car it's going to be a Ford.

A month ago most long termers would have been over the moon with 28p prior to the cap and floor announcement. Could always look at it like that. Just had a glimpse of what might be. For IES it's still a historically solid figure from which to climb.

The misunderstanding that cap and floor is govt funded and therefore might be affected by a shift in govt spending is why the sp had dropped. Won't be a problem for long.

You'd expect the flexbase decision to go vanadium to prompt even more thought about the issues with lithium. They were very clear that they just wouldn't use a risky technology next to something so important and costly.

PMC. With all due respect what laws of probability are you referring to here? Because there is no precident with this scheme..

Why would you create the cap and floor scheme if you aren't going to approve projects like Hagshaw? It's ticks every box. I recon the majority of these projects will get approved. The govt has set its stall with net zero and energy security and it needs to crack on.
