LiDCO's Unity software allows the connection of LiDCO's continuous non-invasive blood pressure monitoring module. Existing LiDCOrapid monitors can be easily upgraded to provide the new functionality. LiDCO believes that the availability of the Company's Unity software and continuous non-invasive blood pressure module will double the numbers of surgery patients suitable for monitoring with LiDCO's technology. Japan is the second largest market in the world for hemodynamic monitoring. The Company estimates that there are approximately 680,000 high-risk surgical patients per annum in Japan who can now benefit clinically from improved intraoperative fluid management.
