With consolation of shares 3 for every 4 technically value of your portfolio will be reduced by 25% but share price will stay same as any dividend payout or buy back does.

The main point here is. This will reduce the number of shares, so increase EPS with potential to pay a lot higher future dividend e.g. Aviva can increase dividend by 25% less lost business due to sale if any impact.

Assume we get 5% div and we value Aviva at £4 per share, 25% additional dividend or EPS mean we have potential to have new share price £4+25% so £5 each. Hope I got this correct?
What's your thoughts?

The next dividend payment is about 21st Apr, and to complete their buy back program 31st Mar

I believe they won't declare the amount and ex div date until they have bought back.

Why would they increase their buying price unnecessary? 443 is still very cheap in the view of next dividend.

What are your thoughts? Any suggestion? Will SP keep going up until April?

Thank you all, only bought 50 so not too much. I always wanted to invest in shares, now that I am financially stable happy to learn and challenge myself and learn something new. I've +/- so overall not lost anything. Thank you once again.

I'm new to the shares etc bought this at £50 in May and it's too much down, luckily it's only 6% of my portfolio but it's still 44% loss. : '(
Any suggestions what I should do here, every few weeks I hope it's going to be up but it keeps going down.

In the last 12 months, the max % increased in 2 days was 57% and in 1 day was 31% followed by 20% the next day, so there's a lot of potential, I'm expecting this to go to 115~125 within the next few weeks.

What do you think?

+ additional savings of £150m for Aviva - short term payments which we are expecting, so why would they not buyback shares?

Has anyone calculated the savings Aviva will make in dividend payout over 10 or 20 years time of buying back £750m buy back program?

600m in 10 years and 1.2b over 20 with only 1% rise in dividend, think long term. Share price of £4 with 20% expected special payout is very cheap. No wonder Cevian had 5% stake and expected value of £5+ GLA, GN

I'm new to trading and learning about how it all works. So I have few questions if someone could help would be greatly appreciated.
1. Which platform is best, I've opened ISA with a bank but costs £6+stamp duty and on small scale it's expensive
2. Is ISA best or normal trading account is good?
3. Is etoro good what's the security and is it easy to buy/sell and monitor?
4.Bank doesn't show live rates there's delays which isn't great any suggestions?
5. Could someone explain what's stop and trailing stop? What's the benefit?

Yes I understand, so when I said if you have the funds to buy rights then it will be ok otherwise price drop will mean you're at small loss when average sp price is lower layer, isn't that correct? Sorry all complicated ??

Looking at easyJet rights issue, the price will drop a lot for few days, check between 8th sep to 13th,

If you have the funds to buy rights issue then hold or buy more today then buy more at rights price otherwise sell today and buy back after rights issue at lower than today's price.
Otherwise your at a loss from current share if you don't do anything.
