I’m not sure the tree climbing lesbians tag applies to Ecuadorians worrying about their homeland…but it only emphasises our approach has been correct over the years, keeping the govt and locals onside as much as that is possible. A lot of companies may well come unstuck in the coming years by cutting corners.
On Twitter, a forum which I actively despise but which is unavoidable unfortunately, I find the best way to see all of someone’s posts is to click on “tweets and replies” . I don’t see how one account going awol is significant if all the posts are readily available on another….

Anyhow I made sure my AGM votes were cast today- I urge everyone not to forget. Back the board and be patient a little longer

Re the Irwin tweets I can see all of them on the 6666 feed going back at least 6 months - the latest one about anti mining campaign in Ecuador worth a look though it probably doesn’t effect us directly atm . Good find Orthern. Key to me with this investment has always been the diverse book - (as explained once or twice by Quady :) ) but equally important is the timeline factor determined by the government. They simply will not accept our rate of progress. A perfect storm is gathering and I put great weight on Irwins comments throughout this year. Keep faith with this board and let’s be patient a little longer

Irwins tweets have been interesting the last couple of days . He discounts the role of the PFS in any future bid from BHP or any potential pressure from their own shareholders . And scoffs the likelihood of a low bid ......quite upbeat I'd say and laid back . Check his "tweets and replies"

Well I finally managed to buy after trying for a hour and a half on AJ Bell . Very strange ; never had this trouble before . I hope it proves to be worth the effort

It's a good question , JG and doesn't seem to fit in with the following paragraphs which are less ambiguous when mentioning "development" .

I would have been more encouraged if Keith Marshall , as chair of the committee would have made the comments rather than the departing CEO - I just didn't see the latter's comments being helpful in any way . The sooner we have a permanent replacement the better

I notice Irwin hasn't commented yet - that will be interesting if or when he does . I've been reading through his twitter feed on past comments about the assets which are , not surprisingly , all positive . Could all these people , FN etc , have got it so wrong ?

Last point , the Colonel has mentioned for days there was a 50k persistent seller ; well , it all makes sense now ! I just wonder if they intend buying back in ....

I agree that a clear victory would be preferable for Arauz (who seems a very capable and pragmatic fellow from what I've read ) . The link below from yesterday gives a brief analysis on his prospects and opines that he would honour mining contracts . It should be stressed that his mentor Correa initiated the major mining contracts during his tenure and that SOLG have done a good job with relations to local peoples and communities . For eg the workforce is estimated to be 98% Ecuadorians .

Let's hope for a smooth transition and that Biden doesn't opt to support any dubious operations - I'm sure that , in common with all the major miners with interests in the region , he is squeaky clean :)
