On the downside , Lumina Gold's Cangrejos project in Ecuador was recently sold (April this year) for 421m US dollars . It's NPV (from 2023 pfs) was 2.2m ....quite a discount

What gives me hope is that the new exploration company seems to be a serious proposition as talked about in RNS and imo will probably be a reality. If Cascabel were to be sold for peanuts on the other hand the newco would be uninvestable and dead in the water from day one. So why would Solg even mention it ?

We're in the same position as we ever were. If only one party shows an interest in sale or JV then we're screwed .

Personally I'd take a JV proposal at this moment in time and hope it leads to bids from others. I think it would if handled correctly. It's the stitch up fait accompli we need to be wary of . Something needs to break the deadlock that's for certain
