Its all over the press that the banks are not giving the loans as prescribed in the government business help scheme.
The commentator for chambers of commerce is saying the banks are asking for personal guarantees, your house etc and he says that these are turbulent unprecedented times so the banks should give loans away without security.
Well forgive me for sounding thick but has'nt a loan always been given on some kind of security and does this clown really believe anyone is going to agree with this mantra other than the commercially naive .

We all contribute our opinions on this board influenced by how circumstances affect us as individuals, to that end a lot of blame is being cast in the directions we think are the cause.
There as not been many pointing at China but to be truthful it looks like the practices they carry out in their backward society have been the root cause .
Worldwide there will be a massive backlash in the future both commercially and cultural ,the world will see the Chinese as a pariah and harbinger of doom wreaking havoc on humanity.
I see a massive sea change in the world order after this crisis a ended and the USA will be a leading protaganist in changing it.

If one reads the letter from Sam Woods (PRA) it could be a scene from the Godfather ,these type of letters show to much power in the hands of the wrong people.

The board have bent over and let the BOE give it them up the arse and the board like it because they get 2.5bn of our money to play with .

I have watched with some rancour at the posters on here suggesting the dividend must be stopped because it looks wrong to pay it when the economy is being bailed out by public money.
Right so if the last months wages were taken off everyone because from now till this crisis is over the government is paying 80% of your wages ,how would that have gone down with the general public.
The dividend is a return on an investment that carries risks far greater than someone losing their income for three months the risks include losing the lot.
The money invested will go towards the recovery when it happens and to that end it is doing good for the economy so lets hear no more nonsense from those without a vested interest or plenty to lose .

I would hope that the final dividend is safe as the money will go towards pensions and payments for individuals that have invested over the long term for returns on savings.

If the bank reneged on this div payment it would cause a lot more damage to the share price and the credibility of the bank.

There is a way we can as a society actively fight this virus and prevent its spread .When in public places wear fabric gloves sprayed with Dettol or similar strong anti bacteria germ killer.
This will help prevent the contact with you and help kill out the touch zones that infected areas within the public environment spread this disease .We know this virus spreads mainly by touch if we reduce that weapons potency we have a lot more chance to kill it off.

If this fall in the markets continues is it likely that the boards of the major ftse companies suspend their shares .

Bruce Your statement is nonsensical and insulting to innocent victims of this outbreak of a non treatable killer .If you were told that an invisible man was running a mock shooting people dead in your town would you still go out and about in your normal way.

This virus as a long way to go yet and anyone who is taking precautions might survive it anyone who is'nt could soon be the past tense.

Problem with gold which I looked at after selling out of lloy was the difference in buying and selling and thats without the normal fluctuations.
I reckoned my purchases would have to rise by a minimum 6% to break even should I have to sell without any loss and should it fall after I have bought the losses increase rapidly.

Very sensible comment Brit ,just to re -afirm the longer this goes on the better for shareholders as the loan book will expand as demand is forced onto the general business community.the fundamentals are not changing within the bank and yes there will be more defaults but these will be outweighed by new loans and better rates.

The markets decide that ,as well as the company is doing the stock market fall will take the sp down in the index if you look at the 4% fall in the ftse today it is reflected in the lloy share fall and it will continue to do so simply because what is happening is unfathomable.

There are a few on the board who think this situation is a buying opp I sold out monday at 53p and believe that I will be able to buy back in at sub 30p in the coming weeks so to those who are buying now by the end of next week you will be losing a lot, wait a while there are two kinds of panic .

TFE Did not like doing it and took a bit of a loss over the period but have had over £75k in divis this is the game were in and the heart must not rule the head everybody is their own safety officer.

There is a real concern in the markets as to weather this cv is going to bring about another crash and the fundamentals are there.the rest of the world as not got our robust banking structure and the knock on effect of starved liquidity is going to bring a very nasty shock to the global trading world.
I have just bailed and I did this after some serious consideration I do not want to see 15 years of building a Half million holding dwindle away over the next few months.
This cv is not going away anytime soon and as long as it keeps spreading and killing people the whole stockmarket is going to suffer badly for a long time.
