If we can sell a better product at a cheaper price then we will make money. The general public do not value the lives of animals they have never seen.
I think initially with PF and later with proper cuts of meat this tech can deliver but it will take some time. As a side benefit the planet will be better off.
I read in the FT that we are facing a massive shortage of chocolate as inventories are used up and supply cannot be easily increased in nature. One problem like this that ANIC companies can solve and we are off to the races.
Hi, a company can appoint a non-insider, often the corporate broker, to undertake the share buy back this gives independence and prevents the use of insider information.
I am not worried about the beta. The turnover is so low I would not expect market movements to have an impact on a given day. I am surprised that the company does not seem to have completed any buy backs yet. The huge discount is a free win for them.
I was thinking the same. The private company can buy the assets at a huge discount, much better than buying the companies directly. They can buy 30% before having to offer for the whole firm
I think the issue is that the company is too small for professional buyers to use it for clients, while some private investors are losing faith and selling at a loss. As you say this cannot last forever. The price will be go up or the company will wind up.
Hi
Also interested to see the Mellon has again added his own cash alongside ours. This suggests that he is not only in this to rip off ANIC shareholders but might believe what he is doing.
Personally, I am more worried that he will cost me money while he saves the world than he is trying to get richer.
It will not have been Jupiter’s choice to sell. They own the CHRY holding on behalf of client. I would guess that a large redemption or mandate change forced them to sell some much so fast.
Jim was on the Merryn talks money podcast released today and worth a listen.
The key takeaway was that he thinks Good Dog Food will list in the UK this year.
Really there has been good news on Solein, Meatable and Good Dog Food. The portfolio appears to be going well. Also I think there is 5p of cash per share.
The volumes are very low so the price has moved 10% intra day recently. Funny times.
Another PE fund CHRY moved up 17% today a good news story, due to the huge discount.
Better times may be ahead
Hi, I am a professional and think this is odd behaviour. The only reason I can think of would be if someone wanted to inject £300k into ANIC, rather than buy in the secondary market which does not add to the company’s bank account.
One of the holdings has gone bust. This is to be expected and I don’t know if it was marked to zero on the NAV already.
So far we have not been diluted, issuing new shares above NAV increases the value of the fund and benefits existing investors. I know the share price fell but long term value was generated.
The news from the industry is good and NAV growth strong, although I have not seen the calculations.
The share price is too low and will in time recover.
I will only be worried if new shares are issued at a discount to NAV that is a sign of real weakness.
I have read comments on this board with interest but following the news of a much better and cheaper battery from the Argonne National Laboratory, early but promising work. I think the the risks are too high and the upside capped in this stock.
All the best
Hi,
Although it is luck we are out of the EU. They will be decades behind on this as they need permission from the French farming lobby to progress and that will not come anytime soon.
The UK might still learn a thing or two from Singapore.
Hi Chris,
I had hoped that ANIC would buy gold miners rather than the ‘picks and shovels’ companies. Clearly Lib labs will need much more capital rather a firm like Bluenala which plans to licence its tech.
This seems a lower return option but the tech is useless without factories.
BlueNulu have posted some pictures on LinkedIn which are making me hungry. Once our share price recovers I look forward to trying some.
Happy to be corrected but I don’t think Blackrock have any trackers with AIM stocks, the low liquidity and high spread makes the tracking error too high. I think this 6% is from an active manager at BR.
It is a shame that it is possible to buy so much without moving the price.
Agree. The really good news is that Blackrock will know that they cannot sell 6% in the near future without crashing the price so they are in for the medium to long term or they would not have bought anything.
ANIC will not invest though as BSFA is a competitor but still good news for the whole industry, also it shows what a little good news could be for our portfolio.
