George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
NAV's are calculated daily not annually as I, sure you know or they would be meaningless. I think the unlisted stock values have not been adjusted down to reflect market downturn in this sector and as such I would think at the moment SMT is actually trading at a premium not discount. BTW I have held a lot of this IT and its been great to me and I sold my last tranche at about £13.50, I have buy orders in between £7 and £8 because i like most here believe in the companies held ...but not at their current values.
Agree if truly ( 5-10 )% discount however im personally not too convinced by the quoted NAV's particularly at the moment, I know how they should be calculated but some of the basket of stock held in SMT is unlisted and a pure value guess.
re buys in SMT by SMT ..looking back over the past 3 days 25% of all purchases in SMT have been by SMT themselves gotta ask why are they wasting cash doing this, its unsustainable in the end and this money could be going towards stock purchases perhaps a few more non stay home overpriced tech stocks would be good. Is pride an issue here ?
'Maybe Tesco expected more to reinvest their divi'
Think the SD's are being reinvested .. 15 buys for every sell and the price keeps falling ??
Actually about 50% acc to FT

Correction think the collators name is TOM not Tim, and mooted alt general contact board should this one disappear being STOB ....( stick it to them ) :)
unlikely allies here .....pile on the presure....
sorry TAV : just 'properly' read below ..will try various versions and add in ....
TAV : I would also like to add myself to the collective list ..how do ?
Also would like to add to my suggestion to use STOB ..can I also suggest everyone uses the heading FLYBE as this will be easy to filter and maybe less likely to upset the STOBS not that there are that many.
Still incandescent with rage over the way the BOD has acted here and ripped all us shareholders off.
If the board disappears I think bunking on STOB would be good :)
I too have been burned badly by this BOD actions. Reading this board from the beginning of this scam. Yesterday morning at about 7:20AM biz report on R4 Today prog Willy Walsh was being interviewed about IAG/BA interviewer asked “ has BA been similarly affected by the issues suffered by other airlines Flybe etc, he answered something like “not at all were doing great … these are excuses and are not true, Flybe has been badly run for some time and anything that comes out of the board shouldn’t be taken seriously” I think I also detected some kind of bitterness in his tone, as if perhaps earlier on he had made representation to the BOD and had been rebuffed also.
My view, and it concurs I think to a degree with most sensible of you guys is that this was a premeditated action by the board carefully engineered to have plausible reasoning behind it.
The CC companies actions giving the board the final excuse to press the trigger on the company and recommend the 1p offer. Almost as if these CC companies had been set up on their path by someone far away on his nice little island in the sun… maybe.
Reminds me a bit of what the banks were up to about a decade or so ago (ppl now in jail as a result) by forcing solvent companies into administration by calling in their loans and pocketing all the remaining assets.
