With the huge amount of profits the big oilers are making, I'd think it'd be adviceable for them to invest into the smaller minnows, one in particular. Not only will they offset the Taxman but they'll also give us a helping hand up the mountain :)

Reflecting on Chuditchs sibling which generated several billions in revenue, I don't think the BOD will let it go cheaply.
There was professional information regarding Chuditch as a kitchen feeding the rest of the basins, if this is the case then the BOD can sit on their hands while a bidding war takes place.
