Brewin Dolphin - top slicing? 8286 isn't a big amount in view of their holding certainly not much to panic about.
With CTT it was the inevitable unfortunately. These even if the bidders fail and not all 6 will (just a question of probability.) They have a much stronger business model and certainly the investments from Berry Asset Management and other Investment houses suggest these are considered low risk. Further these paid a dividend in June and bought up shares in Dec in place of a dividend. Surely if the company was in danger with its loans the investment houses would have stayed away and the company would have cancelled its dividend to reduce its loan exposure.
I think this will be a quiet day but the eye of a hurricance is also deceptively quiet.
It is an exchange fault. I had a look at RBS earlier and it showed no trades. Certainly a few ticks up everyday is good and buys outnumbering sells every day will increase the rises. News will be handy though and I think next tuesday is the monthly report.
I agree with the tenants being low-risk but you forgot to include to of their lowest risk tenants - German Highway Agency and the Swedish Government (Just increased the rent by 30% - Monthly report March 31) . Mid-term the sp will soar again if they decide to pay a dividend again in June. They bought back 10% of shares in Feb instead due to investors nerves in Dec. Directors and nominated brokers have voluntarily taken a 10% pay cut and vacany rates are running at about 3%. Whilst NAV may have reduced due a downturn in the market RTY's rental income has remained strong. A dividend payment in June could send the sp sky-high as divis now are rare as hen's teeth.
I have been running through the names and most of them are investment banks and asset management companies but I did find a couple of interesting nuggets. Berry Asset Management are part-Swiss owned which means that they run a low-risk model of investing. (This must say something about the long-term future) http://www.berry.co.uk/content_page.asp?id=125 Halifax IS do a take-over service http://www.fairfaxplc.com/mergers_acquisitions.htm Weiss are a raider from across the pond http://www.weissasset.com/about.html These companies are still holding even after the spike although a minor top slice happened with Berry and Castellain. Whilst they are holding so am I. If they suddenly increase their holding we know something is about to happen.
There have been a few also including KDD and I understand why the board of RTY maybe coy about saying who is offering to take them over. However, I think it is more upto the parties themselves to declare interest and they will only do that after they have done some due diligence to satisfy themselves that the company it is there interests to take them over. They will then do further due diligence before they commit. RTY aren't debt free but have paid a dividend in June 2008 and bought back share in place of a dividend in Feb. They have also agree some cash savings and sold an asset so there are long term positives to this company as well. What the future holds for the sp in the short-term is anyones guess and what value the offer will be for the company is also at the moment pure guess work. However, with the increase in the numbers of interested parties after March 30 I believe at least one other company will throw their hat into the ring soon.
With CTT, I don't usually comment on other shares on non-related and try not to make negative comments unless they are relevant and factually based but the RNS about the loan impairments and the dodgy bookkeeping scared the hell out of me. I wouldn't put a penny their way. RTY are different and the monthly reports are encouraging as well as the institutional buys since 31/3
In answer to you company that was offered more than 300% of book price. Sinopec offered 40p a share for Urals Energy in Jan when the price at the time was only 7p a share and the moving average 30 - day was less.
I agree it might take a while. Interested parties have to their due diligence and may not want to come forward too much until they are satisfied that everything is in order. However, small incremental rises every day will see us their eventually. RTY has shown us its potential and now we need to just sit and wait.
Is this the list? look at the holdings in company since 31 march http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail?code=cotn:RTY.L&display=news&it=le
I probably will be a good day today especially in the morning I have to go out teaching in a couple of hours so I won't be able to look at the shares until mid afternoon. Apparently a user johhny123 posted a fake press release on here and on the board of another rising share saying that the company had appointed administrators and trading was being suspended. Needless to say a couple of users here jumped in light of the fact that AXE went down 2 days ago and WLW's failure last year has still left some nerves. Admin deleted the posts though and I think blocked the login address. However, a couple of other new names have appeared and are trying to stir trouble so it maybe the same guy using multiple email addresses to allow multiple login names. It is all pathetic really and should be ignored but in a general market sell off spreading extra panic can cause a few nerves.
DOW up 128points after Treasury Sec says Banks have enough capital. Hopefully a good budget tomorrow afternoon and we should be back to steady rises again.
Should get a fresh report from IDEX and Rapaport in a couple of days. diamond news has been quiet generally for Passover and current rankings for polished exports are 1, Israel 2, India 3. Antwerp.
I'm still holding pdf as a long-term play. Initially intended a short on them but decided to stay in them for reasons I have said on the board. He isn't a bad place either and the dividend they paid last year makes me feel a lot happier. It is a good sign when a company starts in 2005 and pays a first dividend in mid 2008. VCB2 - I feel for you as I have done the same thing but you live and learn. I joined here for the research that the sensible people post and try to ignore the idiots.
Unfortuanately on a public board it is something we have to deal with. I lost out of HRG a couple of months ago because of someone like Johny123 scaring up during a market sell-off. I jumped lost money and ended a win streak as well.
Don't worry about admin. They caught and killed off LuckyT for mucking around eventhough LuckyT hacked in under a number of ISP changes. I think admin threatened LuckyT with prosecution in the end. However, it is always a good policy to check back through previous posts on any user especially new users. I always check newbies talking big. Newbies askling for advice I will always try to help or point them in the direction of research material if they are asking about a share investment.
I think we will get bids sooner rather than later. However, I found this on Interactive Investor. http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail?type=&code=cotn%3ARTY.L&it=le&display=fundamentals last July they paid a dividend. Surely for an AIM company that must be something.
Thanks for that I didn't notice that 300K were snapped up today but it wouldn't surprise me that someone wouldn't take advantage of the retrace. Hopefully see the RNS tomorrow or in a couple of days.
Has anyone seen the RNSs on Interactive Investor? Castellain bought an additional 250K @4.25p and sold 100K@11p. What are the odds they will top up on this retrace?
