Labs can't work to these timelines. Remember the NHS asked GDR to make this POC test for this very reason.

NICE cannot recommend tests that are not effective and cost beneficial. Its their job!

Remember a lab test cannot return a test in a day let alone an hour

@gloria. The GDR test is cost effective. That is literally NICE's whole job. It is cheaper, less labour intensive and importantly far, far quicker than lab tests.

Recommendation means it will be ordered. People have to follow guidelines!!!!

A consultant friend works in this unit. Has heard of this test and the unit manager is the process of ordering the test.

It's cheaper than the lab test, less labour intensive and returns a test within the hour (not 2-5 days) and puts results directly into the patients notes. This will be used big time!!!

GDR will know the verdict and possibly for a week or so. Make that of you want. The last couple of weeks will have been discussions on a price per test that both are happy with.
