Do I read this right .. you’ve emailed the auditors of a company, that you don’t own shares in to ask for clarity on an RNS released 6 months ago..?

I might email nestle and ask them why they have stopped making caramac bars, I don’t like them.. but I’ll ask anyway.

I often read this thread, thought I’d add my views re share price / shorters.

Firstly 6th November 2.5m shares traded that day… if we look at the one short that increased by 0.2% that equates to 1.1m shares in itself.. So whether they used other financial instruments to place their short, or sold shares .. that’s a huge % of the daily volume.. Then there was the other short position that reached above the threshold for reporting, but the rise on the day is unknown… my point is the short increases are significant versus the overall daily volume.

It’s purely an opportunistic play, knowing that a marginal increase in short, will drop this price significantly..

For what it’s worth I think their was a significant uplift in a short early yesterday morning when the price dropped 3% instantly.. We will no doubt see that report later.

With regards to going bust etc … pure scaremongering ..

The tide will turn eventually…

It was clearly a sell.. not fantasy theories of Quebe reducing their short etc..

2.9m shares sold @ £2.17 when bid price was £2.24…
That’s a sell, not a short closing.

Would be interested to understand from those who are better educated than me on rules that Wood need to follow in relation to this takeover (possible)
Firstly the first announcement that was advertised as being in relation to recent rumours:
Am I right in thinking that if a rumour (which was true) had been in circulation then they have a responsibility to comment?
My point is, there was no rumour, so was this just a case of them making public information that they are badging up as their responsibility to do so (hope that makes sense)
Secondly, re today they have given an update, however am I right in thinking they didn’t need to, as it was not a firm intention so this was a voluntary update to market?

I’m really intrigued, as the wording of the press releases to me are essentially saying company is for sale…please engage with us.

@bald_eagle - your point is spot on and one I referred to yesterday. The group made this announcement based upon speculation, which there has been none.. the share price has been stagnant, polar opposite to what it would have been if there had been speculation.
The true motives will play out shortly I would suggest

Interesting that the announcement is badged up as being on the back of speculation, which there has been none..

A smart tactic nonetheless, it calls Apollo out and they will most probably now also make a form of announcement re their intent, but also it makes the market and other potential bidders aware of what’s on the table..

Something very strange. Someone has been selling 704 shares all day none stop (same number) in batches of 3/4 and every time they do it goes down. Must have been 60/70 odd today. For such a small volume it’s very strange... weird. Would love to know any thoughts or if others have noticed
