That might have been true 10 or 20 years ago. The global stage is now green and renewables. Uganda sale rightsizes to a regional strategy for the next 10 or 20 years imo. It also avoids $[0.7bn] FID costs and generates $0.6bn cash. If we need to borrow in the future for a latam or west african opportunity, we can.

I think the principles underlying monetising QE is choose a forward looking industry, choose a ubiquitoes economic asset, then agree an exchange of value underpinning a multilatersl liberal trade exchange policy. Fair point. FCA are career civil servants following statute and regulation and any behaviour by the market is cosidered evidence the market is working. Unless there is fraud, little we or fca can do.
