People just don't know what blockchain is. Imagine how many people knew about 'the internet' back in the mid-80s! Couple that with an investment and you've pretty much hit the jackpot...!
I believe that blockchain will herald a Dot Com-style boom, whereby everybody and his dog will be claiming to 'be involved' in the technology. The difference with ONL, I hope, is their track record of foreseeing advances in tech and the link with ADVFN. My own little prediction here...but I think that the volatile nature of cryptocurrency will eventually cross over into 'traditional' stocks - at least until the tech has solidified and become ever-present in daily lives. So just as BTC and ETH are seeing annual swings of thousands of percent, a boom in blockchain and its related stocks will see wild swings there, too.
I think they must have heard you!
With that amount of skin in the game, I can totally understand your concern. I suppose that it doesn't make it any clearer when a 4k buy goes through 2p above the current ask either! 13:49 today, making us 12.50% up (on Google, at least).
I think that the SP was behaving pretty normally up until yesterday. As to why the change - who knows?! Still a long-term prospect for me, this one.
The mystery deepens - 31K buy went through after close yesterday... Even if it's nothing else, it's very strange SP behaviour.
I did, WD - not sure what to make of that. It's quite draconian to ban people from commenting on ONL without giving a reason as to why. An odd afternoon today. Maybe we'll see a correction of the SP tomorrow.
Yet another large(ish) buy - 10k+ - and not a blip. Agreed, WD - I think that it'll be the hare that wins this race, despite there being some frantic activity at times. Good luck to you, pal.
An 18K buy has no effect on the SP, yet a sell of 1k pushes it down 5 points. In terms of intelligence, you could deduce a fair amount from that, I think.
Just in case it's of any use to those who are unsure as to the applications of Blockchain technology (other than financial), this TEDx talk is pretty decent: https://youtu.be/k53LUZxUF50
'Solid' would be my description of it. Changes were made to direction and those new paths seem to be leading the company into (some) profit. The shift away from investment reduces the need for placings, which is the primary factor behind the slightly crazy nature of SP movement on this share. Again, it's the 18% in ADVFN that's crucial here, in my opinion. If they do well, then ONL does well. Add the blockchain into it and I'm cautiously optimistic for a very good 2018.
I agree that the interview wasn't as polished as it could be...and it's worth noting too that the applications of blockchain for sectors other than those involved in financial transactions are, by my estimation, around 6-8 years behind crypto-linked associations. But it will happen. Until then, however, the emergence of blockchain will be driven by the financial sectors. And that's why I'm in here - the link with ADVFN.
Final word from me, as I don't want to sail too close to the ramping wind. To me, this is a long sought-after value play in Blockchain. A value play. So, in the short and medium term, this can go up, down and sideways and I won't be particularly bothered. I'm interested in 18-24 months down the line, when the SP will reflect a new understanding by the 'general' investor and wider public in Blockchain. In the meantime, all the best to all holders, whether LTHs or traders.
I'm in after a mate of mine went into Ethereum early on and with the profits he made from just over a grand's investment, bought an Audi A4 and a second house that's he's now renting out. Blockchain has only just begun to change lives... And the freefloat here is wonderfully low, coupled with two CEOs who simply GET the business they're in. Don't comment often as it's hard to have meaningful debate and knowledge transfer in a sea of rampers and derampers - but I'm commenting on this one. Goodbye and good luck.
In here on the back of having been in BOOM for a while. Feels like there's news coming over there - a load of steady buys over the last week or so. Also, look at the 1-trade here this morning. Either a newbie's mistake or a conspiracy theorist's dream! ATBA.
This is totally - totally - under the radar. Marvelous.
Well, it seems to have stopped now anyway. Slump aside, it was nice to see it climb steadily to 112p. This company should be around the 150+ mark, easy.
Anybody have any thoughts on why we're having this slump?
Amazed that nobody's commenting on this spike... Share of the week indeed!
Just saw some positive mention made of AGY on the bb for BMR. AGY obviously made a good impression at a recent presentation.
