Mr Mole, you having to do chemo was much worse, the zapping sessions were painless and only lasted a few minutes each time on top of the inevitable waiting time. In order that the raybeam machine (probably the wrong terminology) could be properly directed 3 gold pellets were inserted in my prostate a week or so before the zapping started.
My PSA readings are now minimal but unfortunately the zapping did cause some minor damage to both bladder, bowel and erection capabilities, the need to "go" can come on very rapidly.
Following the treatment I took part in a 2 year Marsden trial as to whether palm oil helped to relieve the post treatment symptons I had. Not sure what happened to the study as the main man emigrated to Australia.
@ Mr Mole, I didn't find the biopsy procedure that painful but I'd prefer not to hear that clicking sound again when they took another sample. My main problem was having booked to go to the Algarve, for a golf trip, a few days after I then had an infection in that area which pretty well kept me in a darkened room for the first 3/4 days. It was looking for a better way forward that caused me to invest in AGL. Fortunately, AGL seem to be on the cusp of being properly recognised.
BTW - no recurrence since the 37 zappy sessions at the Royal Marsden. The staff were wonderful!
A roadshow/presentation does not need to be the first step. Any prospective investor who was already doing their research would, usually, jump at the chance to attend whether they were at the start or towards the end of their research! To state otherwise is misleading.
Dr A, I am one that appreciates your posts and am delighted you are prepared to put the time in. Thank you.
I just wonder whether with Peel dragging their feet that the collaspe of Intu, where Whittaker was heavily involved, might just have affected corporate sentiment and made them more risk adverse.
I don't use IG, suggest you ask them. Each contract note should show the cost of buying shares both pre and post costs. For CGT purposes you need the post costs i.e including dealing, stamp duty costs etc. Ask your broker to bed and Isa your holding. If you deal online their should be that facility.
I'm grappling with the same problem in my Sipp and Isa a/cs but in my case the share is AFC. Have held for 10 years + and, at last, things have started to look not just good but pretty wonderful! Also, in EQT and PHE but very minor compared to AFC and only since 21/12.
