Middleeast Money here are the published mineral resource estimates for the worlds current 4 primary producers: Largo, Brazil : 50.6 MT ore at 1.01% avg grade = 512 kT of contained Vanadium Northwest Mining and Exploration Group (China) : 93 MT Ore at 0.97% grade = 902 kT of contained Vanadium Glencore Rhovan, South Africa : 181 MT ore at 0.49% = 899 kT of contained Vanadium and of course Bushveld Vametco : 138.6 MT of Ore at 0.62% average grade = 862 kT contained Vanadium Plus of course Bushveld Mokopane : 297.2 MT or at 0.68% grade = 2,028 kT contained Vanadium Plus Bushveld Brits, which is not yet defined but can be expected to be similar grades to Vametco and maybe a similar size, but less just call it 450 kT of contained Vanadium at the moment. Thus the Bushveld total is 3,380 kT of contained Vanadium. At 20 kT production per year this would last 200 years At todays prices of 70,000 USD/Tonnes this would naively equate to 236 Billion US Dollars value. Unlike some of the other recently metoo Vanadium stocks (Aura, King River copper) - these are high grades and are in magnetite - so are easily separated and concentrated via magnetic separation. Thus there is actually the possibility that these ore may be mined and turned into useful Vanadium at a profit.

Mrremmy - thanks for reposting this however the angle is very much along the lines of "we're american and we have no Vanadium mines so please fund our US Vanadium project" and shows minable resources in Russia the same as China and which far outstrip South Africa, plus none in Brazil - all of which is clearly not the current situation. I wonder if this angle has been emphasized to underpin the US National Security angle that they are pushing. I only know of one Vanadium miner in Russia but 2 miners in South Africa plus four major Vanadium projects under development or being restarted (BMN's Mokopane and Brits, Tando's SPD project and IRL's Mapochs mine).

In this respect we may be no different to the ancients who believed that the constellations were images of gods or the moon was dragged around the heavens by a turtle with an elephant on its back. In a relatively illiquid market such as AIM the SP can easily be gamed or influenced by many factors that have nothing to do with the company. Remember there is no formula that determines the change of SP with the excess of buys or sells on any particular day - the SP is entirely up to the Market Makers to set - and they will only increase the Share Price only if one or both of the following are true 1) The believe that they can make money by doing so - i.e. there is an influx of buyers, or shorts closing and they need to be charged top dollar before the price can be walked down to get shares back more cheaply from those taking profit. 2) If they believe that they cannot pick up shares any more at current prices and therefore fear that they will be unable to get stock to deliver on sales they have already made. Sometimes strong buying demand creates SP momentum and this in turn draws in new money which is looking for a quick buck. In this case the strong positive feedback can kick of the sustained kind of rerate that was seen in the last few months. The key question is whether the critical level of positive feedback needed for this process to happen is reached following the publication of company News - if it does we assert that the market has woken up, is rational etc and all is good, if not then we tend to assert the market is stupid, hates us or what we do or where we do it and all is doom and gloom. The layer of interpretation is, like the greek map of the constellations, an unnecessary layer of interpretation that we add simply because we don't know how to think about the underlying reality in the correct way.

I agree that a ratio of 37 in favour to 1 against is really not good enough for Bushveld Minerals. It should be 38 to 0 - trouble is there is always one rogue apple that gets in and tries to spoil the barrel, would you not agree.

reteps - to follow on - typical UK electrical energy consumption per household is 10KWh per day (at 13p/KWh this works out at �1.30 a day or around 450 pounds a year. You can adjust for your own household. Thus 1000MWh is enough storage for 100,000 UK households - recharge daily with solar panels and wind.

was being offered by WINS for sells of shares for a minute or two and then they dropped it back to 19.60p after a they managed to pick up another 17Ks worth of shares. It really doesn't seem to take much to move the SP today. Balanced on a knife-edge

What does $100/Kg Vanadium mean ? Basically double the profit compared with Vanadium at 60$/Kg. Earlier this year Vametco was described by the CEO as making 150 Million Dollars a year. This could double that. It certainly will double the profit for BMN once operational gearing is taken into account.

Daisan - I have to agree, all the pressures on Vanadium price are upwards. And we still have not got close to November when new rebar standards come into force in China. $100/Kg Vanadium will happen within 6 months.

I don't mind if we go up by 3% a day for the next few weeks.

I don't think that you can make extrapolations by assuming identical behaviour from two clearly different agents. So what if we were warrant free, there is hardly any warrants left anyway.

Clearly someone wants to pay a 3% premium to get those kinds of quantities

Who knows what Atlas want to do with their shares.
