You could be onto something there Jinny ... Serco announced in September they were on the hunt for acquisitions and at that debt level and performance they are well placed. It was only 18 months ago they made a hostile bid for Bab****. Interesting time for the sector in terms of volatility and consolidation.

Serco were (and still are) due a scheduled trading update as part of pre-close in December (17th) .... the Feb 2021 reference is full year results. Announcement was probably to bring some stability to the slipping SP. December announcement will also give consideration to dividend reinstatement which hopefully now is more probable given cover and reducing debt.

If you are invested in Serco then I take it you are already aware of what Serco are involved in. I take it you are not invested here then Hully ?

Understand the point D0berman, sorry didn’t mean for it to sound like I was having a go. Personally I don’t think that’s it ... I think not reinstating the dividend hasn’t helped, guidance for the full year is still on a wider range than normal and there has been no guidance at all for 2021 which is probably causing nervousness. Dividend reinstatement is not being considered again until Q4. On that basis there is probably better investments around in the short term. I still think the drop is rather harsh however considering such strong performance in the current climate.

Mike Graham is an absolute moron and doesn't know what he's talking about ... he didn't even know that government contracts were tendered for. Who listens to that **** !!

shares sold during the year mainly relate to settling of tax liabilities for awards of shares under various performance plans.

No RNS today and no mention of one in the trading statements calendar for the next 7 days.

Good call Tango ... I am just waiting for the formal announcement on HMP Wellingborough but need to be out mid next week at latest due to other plans.

Anybody know what date Capita announce half year results ... can't find any reference to it anywhere but would expect it to be early August looking at previous years ?

Given the liquidity position hopefully there is an intention to pay back relatively quickly any COVID bailouts and then hopefully we might see dividends reinstated.

Looks like G4S are in the frame to pick up HMP Wellingborough .... £300m contract.

So what are we thinking a reasonable movement in the SP might be come tomorrow then given progress on Brink's transfer and additional opportunities from COVID ?

Deferred rather than foregone but absolutely right in terms of great release, lots of info and very measured approach ... can't fault the steps being taken.
