I have sent Times, then Innova FDA decision, and Conservative Woman/ Innova article to various opposition MPs. I am urging them all to call out the Government on this sordid issue.
But Colin needs to at the very least make a statement that following press comment, Omega remain ready and committed to provide accurate LFTests and to play an integral part in establishing a home grown diagnostics industry.
I have written to the Lib Dems and my local MP, and also the Guardian.
This story of Tory corruption must surely be picked up by the media soon.
Even the likes of Farage Tice and other rabid Brexiteers should realise that Bojo's circus of crooks and incompetents aren't "taking back control" , if all the UK is actually doing is deliberately rewarding Chinese manufacturing whilst crippling UK businesses. Total disgrace. So pleased with NShrop result. Let us hope that shorg of a damascene change of policy, that the regulatty approval for Mologic is given soon.
Ian Blackford confirmed he is aware of ODX. I further encouraged him via the SNP and Scottish govt to call for real support for UK diagnostics esp ODX, and expose the shameful favouring of Chinese tests ( comfortably speedy approvals) and Tory lies and corruption.
However, like every genuine impoverished LTH, I pray for regulatory approval so we can start making and selling lfts soonest. The UK needs them more than ever.
Like one or two already, I have emailed Ian Blackford SNP leader in Westminster. I feel certain he will grasp this opportunity to further humiliate this government. Private Eye and the Guardian are also possibilities. Of course it does appear that ODX were commercially naive but could be forgiven, during a pandemic, in gearing up for a government contract and being overly trusting of the other party to the contract, when that party appears to have never approached the contract with honest intentions. The debts owed to ABDX and Novacyt also tell the same story.
I have a question.Merck's Molnupirivir was given EMergency Use approval at a very early stage.
But SNG has been made to jump through the full monty of hoops , and 18 months will have elapsed from July 2020, (when groundbreaking results were released showing its effectiveness), to Jan 2022, when it is hoped that final results will further confirm its benefits.
So, can someone confirm whether it would have been possible for this government, in its infinite care and wisdom, to have escalated this life-saving treatment by way of EUA back in 2020, and if not why not?
Totally agree Rambo.
I have emailed Ian Blackford, leader of the SNP in Parliament about Omega and what seems the deliberate preferment of substandard Chinese lfts over superior UK products. I imagine some on here read the Daily Heil article yesterday .In the light of the billions of taxpayer's monies squandered on crony Tory contracts, then for DHSC to ask a small UK company to repay £2.5 m, having first encouraged them to expand and promising a sizeable contract, and then effectively doing the sirty on them, looks vicious and vindictive in the extreme. I am only amazed that anyone still supports this self-serving, corrupt bunch of incompetents. An utter disgrace. Not only must there be an independent public inquiry, but culpable politicians must be jailed for this corruption.
Government corruption and deliberate wrecking of the UK diagnostics industry.
I agree Bigbangs, it is the venal Government that lies at fault over this debacle. I have written to my MP (not Tory ) and told her to start shooting at the open goal .
I am also writing to Sturgeon and the Scottish government. What have they actually done to facilitate securing this vital govt contract for Scottish industry? Possibly zilch.
I urge all Omega holders to lodge complaints with their MPs.
Like so manyy, I believed the integrity of the Government but I realise they are just a bunch of crooks .
I agree J Lomax. It is time to expose the Government's calculated neglect of the nascent UK diagnostics industry, and covert reward of overseas companies whose products do not require the same stringent regulatory hurdles, and who pay no UK tax. The clear debt owed to ABDX also needs repaying and there are no excuses.
I emailed Matt Han**** at his usual Parliament email address and told him to ditch Innova lfts and instead commit to support the UK diagnostic lft industry including Omega. I said we needed to establish our UK based industry for this and all future pandemics and stop relying on foreign
Suppliers. Worthwhile in my view and you never know if a sufficient number of concerned
Citizens may influence/galvanise the govt to do the right thing, albeit late. Anyway, actual communication beats interminable negativity and criticism on this board.
