In my book the Ensham acquisition is a cheap, very cheap, deal.

At 2022's price level it adds 0.75 x AUD670m = USD350m = ZAR6.2bn to profits.
Their coal is also sold forward at least 8 months for the current year "locked box" from 1/1/23.

We don't know the cash cost of production but, if it is in the lower tier of Oz Coal Mines (approx. USD50/t) and if the price of coal falls to $75/t it is still highly profitable. On an NPV10 basis I reckon this deal alone is worth £5/share at $75/t coal!

If the share price falls much further the SA coal could approach becoming for free!

Fromage hi yes I think at 10 tga is a great investment that's why I'm still in but as far as derisk I have sold half for now because I'm now not comfortable with the amount. Say you have 22000 shares at a price of £13 and the price drops to 9 =88000 why would you not want to protect that,all I'm saying is this share has dropped from over £18 to 10 in a matter of a few months. Now I'm not saying I'm not going to reinvest but with the downward pull of coal prices I feel it may drop lower

Redbull i to have been here from the very start and it's been one he'll of a ride but its getting to choppy now so I feel the need to derisk and have sold half. I still believe there is more to gain ,hope all your investments go well,you never know you might find yourself jumping back in very soon ??

Hi Hel you could be right and I really hope you are after all I'm here to make money at loss it. However the stock is dropped because of the decline in coal price and has only risen because coal price is up if coal drops again

Fromage I do both, trade in a separate account and still hold in the isa account,personally I have found much greater profits in holding but saying that was when tga was climbing now its dropped and many traders are fully aware of this stock.
