Fri, 07th Sep 2018 10:18

LONDON (Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers within the main London indices on Friday.----------FTSE 100 - WINNERS----------DCC, up 1.0%. RBC initiated the sales and marketing group with an Outperform rating, with a target price of 9,500 pence. DCC shares were trading at 6,806.00p.----------FTSE 100 - LOSERS----------International Consolidated Airlines Group, down 2.1%. Its unit British Airways suffered from a 15-day data breach which compromised around 380,000 card payments. British Airways said it was investigating the vast breach "as a matter of urgency", while the UK National Crime Agency and National Cyber Security Centre are also assessing the hack. IAG noted that the stolen data did not include travel or passport details.----------Burberry, down 0.7%. Goldman Sachs downgraded the luxury retailer to Neutral from its Conviction Buy list, at a target price of 2,536 pence. Burberry shares were trading at 2,080.00p.----------FTSE 250 - WINNERS----------Greene King, up 13%. The pub and restaurant operator reported 2.8% growth in Pub Company same-store sales for the first 18 weeks of its financial year to September 2, ahead of 1.2% overall market growth and driven by good weather, benefits from investments, and the football tournament. Greene King-branded local pubs saw 5.5% growth in like-for-like sales. Total beer volumes in Brewing & Brands unit were up 4.0% and own-brewed volumes were up 0.3%. Greene King said it remains on course to offset cost inflation of between GBP45 million and GBP50 million and is making progress with its refinancing programme to cut debt costs.----------Ashmore Group, up 2.3%. The emerging markets-focused asset manager reported an 11% revenue increase to GBP285.7 million from GBP257.2 million. Assets under management rose by 26% to USD73.9 billion from USD58.7 billion in the year. This reflected record net inflows for Ashmore of GBP16.9 billion, up 47% from the year before. The emerging markets investor said its net flows were strongest in its local currency, blended debt, and corporate debt themes. By client type, retail intermediary, pension funds, government-related pension schemes and insurance companies produced strong net flows.----------FTSE 250 - LOSERS----------Weir Group, down 5.0%. The oil & gas focused engineer reported on Thursday that there was a softening of demand during the month of August, with some order book deliveries being deferred. This followed the announcement from US oilfield service provider Schlumberger Ltd, who warned on Tuesday that a surge in oil and gas production in the Permian basin of west Texas had outstripped transport capacity, leading to a drop in the oil price and could also threaten to reduce the amount of drilling activity. Weir shares closed down 8.6% on Thursday.----------Go-Ahead Group, down 4.7%. The transport operator gave up gains from Thursday, when it up 12% on the back of increase in pretax profit for the year to the end of June to GBP145.7 million from GBP136.8 million last year. Though revenue dipped to GBP3.46 billion from GBP3.48 billion. The company recorded an exceptional gain of GBP25.1 million in the year due to a change in the valuation of its pension liabilities.----------OTHER MAIN MARKET AND AIM - WINNERS----------Amerisur Resources, up 5.6%. The oil and gas producer said it has spudded the Pintadillo-1 well, targeting the N Sands anomaly north of the Platanillo field. The well is currently drilling ahead at 5,000 feet measured depth. The 2D seismic acquisition at Coendu prospect in Colombia is expected to complete in September, followed by data processing and interpretation. In addition, Amerisur Resources reported unaudited production of 152,721 barrels of oil from its two producing fields - Platanillo Field and the Mariposa-1 Long Term Test - for August. Average daily production stood at 4,927 barrels of oil per day and peak daily production totaled 5,295 bopd during the month.----------OTHER MAIN MARKET AND AIM - LOSERS----------EnQuest, down 10%. The oil and gas company said it will exercise its option to fully acquire the Magnus field in the North Sea, by undertaking a GBP107 million rights issue whose proceeds will be used both in the acquisition of Magnus and for the drilling of two infill wells in the field, which is in the northern North Sea. In addition, Pretax profit was USD19.1 million for the six months to June 30, swinging from a USD21.3 million loss in the prior year due to an adjustment on the Magnus option. This was led by re-measurements and exceptional items in the half year, which included the Magnus option, and produced a total profit of USD34.5 million. Revenue and other operating income came to USD550.8 million, up from USD342.4 million.----------
